Giving pickles a shot!
This is a simple recipe with one cucumber, one small head of garlic, two sprigs of fresh dill, some salt, some pepper, and a dash of maple syrup. I filled the jar halfway with water and the other half rice vinegar - we’ll see if they’re any good!
The first big harvest of the season! The cucumbers are adoring all of this wet weather, but unfortunately the potatoes didn’t. We sacrificed that bed, harvested some new potatoes (small, young ones) and replaced them with sweet potatoes.
Ps. Yes, that’s half a bell pepper. The toddler tax was paid 😂
I’ve been slacking on posting but things in the garden are loving the rain♥️ I am incredibly excited about the one singular eggplant I have growing 😂
I made some marigold hanging baskets for my coop because the flies have been TERRIBLE this year! Any suggestions for them?
I do have the fly trap bags but man do they stink😖
May update! Chicks are hatching, peppers are ripening, and new baby goats!

I pulled these two onions early because something was just eating away at them.
Strange, it ate these two but not the garlic they were planted with!

An exciting Tuesday! Our second goat kidded this morning with twin girls! Definitely planning on keeping this one; blue eyes and moon spots!
Pulled our first Egyptian walking onion last night to use in stir fry!
I think I’ll have to make a few more to use it up 😂

Winnie is a WINSTON. I was so excited for a girl, and didn’t realize kids had their “manhood” so early😂 I’m used to puppies where it’s a clean slate down below, so I mistook that for lady bits in all the chaos.
Anywho…here’s WINSTON and he’ll be for sale eventually 😂

Welcome to baby Winnie, our first Nigerian Dwarf Goat baby 🌻✨
Last summer a friend and I got Egyptian Walking Onion bulbs at the farmer’s market. I planted them and thought nothing happened, but they popped up 4 months later. Here we are almost a year later and they’re starting to bulb themselves!
They’re called walking onions because they reseed themselves and “walk” across your garden!

The thyme is flowering, and a stunted carrot!
It’s always fun to pull something new out of the garden, this time it’s radishes!!
They mature SO quickly, just a few weeks. You can plant them in old milk jugs, cardboard boxes, pretty much anything!
This morning I’m restoring some old cast irons given to me by my grandfather. I’ve never done it before, so we’ll see if I’m able to get them back to new!
My toddler’s lunch today - 100% grown on our property!
Wow. Sometimes I am truly in awe of the creation God has designed. It is amazing to me to look back at old pictures of my teeny tiny pepper plants and see how much they’ve grown. What a beautiful design, and a wonder to watch such growth♥️
In light of Easter tomorrow, I felt it was appropriate to post something about new beginnings and creation.

A VERY active starter 🙌 Making bread this morning!
I saved seeds from a watermelon last year and decided to plant them a week or so ago. I planted them all because they were stored out in the light, in a ziploc bag. Well, they all sprouted 😂
On this chilly, wet morning there are little signs of spring coming 🌿♥️

Well sometimes plans change!
Our other garden plot turned out to have asphalt under it (the previous owners attempted to put a road through to the pond). Rather than risk contaminating our food by growing in soil with petroleum byproducts, we moved the garden.
Thankfully this spot has WAY better soil, and looks beautiful. It’s less convenient to water, but better overall!
The Lord has blessed us with multiple options for a garden site, and for that I am so so thankful
