Well, the Bella- Rip litter is in the books and what a nice litter it was!!
One more to go to its home yet but five happy new Chesapeake owners.

Such a beautiful Bella-Rip litter. Growing like weeds and fixing to be lots of fun!! Bella's first litter with Rip's dad Kane were all great hunting dogs, retrieving birds in the field by 1 year old. These pups will be just as nice as partners, family, and hunting dogs. Two boys are still looking for their people. If you're ready for a beautiful, intelligent, birdy and devoted Cheapeake, please check this litter out and let me know!!

Two of the boys will be looking for their new family.

Proudly introducing KBar's Echo Rose Kavanaugh MASTER HUNTER!!! From a tragic start in life to a happy ending, Echo earned her AKC Master Hunter Title at the Shreveport-Bossier Hunt Test at East texas elite kennels in Gilmer, TX with Ryan Middaugh at the controls. Big thanks to the club, workers, and judges for struggling through a miserable, cold rainy Saturday to put on the test. Special thanks to Ryan Middaugh for going above and beyond to help Echo to recover from the neglect and abuse early in her life to acheive this Master Hunter title! Ryan and Hayley Middaugh love these dogs like their own and I know I can count on them to provide the best in care and training.

KBar's Echo Rose Kavanaugh achieved her fourth master pass last weekend at Rose Country Hunt Test with her favorite guy Ryan Middaugh (East Texas Elite Kennels) at the controls. 
Many thanks to the Rose Country Retriever Club, judges and workers!

Echo nailed the test and was clean clean through all three series.

So proud of what this Echo/Ryan team and have been able to accomplish after Echo’s rough and abusive start in life.
One more pass and my girl is a Master Hunter!

Congratulations to KBar's Echo Rose Kavanaugh and Ryan Middaugh - on achieving another master pass at the Port Arthur hunt test!!
Echo was only back in training for less than two weeks after being off all winter and her and Ryan nailed the test and earned another leg towards her Master Title.
Great job Echo and Ryan Middaugh!!

KBar's Echo Rose Kavanaugh completed all four series of her first master hunt test at the Sooner Retriever Club Fall Hunt Test and did an awesome job! She needs a little more work on the long memory birds, but I’m looking forward to her results the rest of this year.

KBar’s Raging Riptide -Rip- easily achieved two Junior passes at the Sooner Retriever Club’s Spring Hunt Test.
This super fine young dog is a product of the KBar Chesapeakes breeding program out of Paige and Kane.
From his kind attitude; his trainability and intelligence; his athleticism and incessant birdie, retrieving mania; right down to his gorgeous hair coat - I don’t think I’ve ever walked to the line with a nicer Chesapeake.
Many thanks to Yvonne Stewart for entrusting me with him after Glenn Julius Stewart’s passing.
I know Glenn would be so proud of his boy.
Kudos to JC Strange and Samantha Pryor - Cripple Creek Retrievers for the excellent start that they put on this young dog.
Eventually Rip will need to go to be someone’s “dog of a lifetime” to a forever home that will be a perfect fit for him and continue on with his Senior training. Until then, I am thoroughly enjoying working with such a nice young dog.
He also babysat three of Ryan Middaugh’s puppies. It is definitely a testament to his good temperament that a two year old stud dog will put up with the shenanigans of three puppies

KBar's Echo Rose Kavanaugh left for college yesterday to pursue her Master Hunter title with Ryan Middaugh at East Texas Elite Kennels. 
I’ve never had a Chesapeake as driven as my Echo Rose, so feel it’s only fair to her to let her go back into training and hopefully earn a plate at Master Nationals - and of course to prove her abuser wrong who said that she didn’t have what it takes a while he left her isolated in a crate in his garage day and night.
Meanwhile, back here at KBar Chesapeakes we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Paige- Ranger litter next Thursday.

Breeding announcement for KBar's Turn the Paige SH to KBar's Recon Ranger SH. If anyone has expressed interest in a puppy from Paige, please send me a message (if I haven't already sent you one)
Ranger is a fantastic young dog with an excellent pedigree as is Paige, so this will be a very nice cross for family, hunting or hunt test dogs,
Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you on the list.
The next breeding will be Bella/Kane in May for July pups. This will be a repeat breeding because the pups from the first cross were awesome.

IT'S PUPPY TIME!!! BREEDING ANNOUNCEMENT for KBar's Raising Kane SH and KBar's TinkerBella of Rock Hill SH. This is a repeat breeding because the puppies from the first litter were so awesome - as have been all of Kane's puppies! Many of Kane's puppies have already made successful hunting dogs and the trainers are loving them!! This pedigree is full of performance titles and this cross produces a beautiful, smart, naturally birdy, athletic pup with an excellent hair coat and fantastic temperment and personality that are hard driving retrievers.
