Ms. Sassy Pants It's all about Me! Me! The daily life and antics of a dog who never let a disability slow her down.....

Almost fully recovered from his cancer treatment, Jameson is back to being 😝 The killed his tumor, he just needs the hole the dead mass fell out of to heal up and the bruising to settle (image in comments). This was an extremely gross process but Jameson is only 2 years old and deserved every chance to live free. Jameson's has turned into a to enjoy life.

So thankful for Dr Sue Cancer Vet for the wealth of information she shares so that we could research treatments and provide Jameson with what we felt would give him the best odds. Jameson's mass was just outside of the recommended range but we took a chance for our boy and he hit the tumor free jackpot! Highly recommend following Dr. Sue, too much cancer is showing up in our pups. The more you know, the better care you can provide.

Jameson hopefully begins his cancer treatment next week

from Jameson as he rests up to start his cancer treatment on Tuesday (hopefully)! We say hopefully as this little guy needs your help to get his treatment.

At just 2 years old Jameson will undergo his injections. Due to his and that cause some behavior, Jameson will need to be admitted to the vet and sedated. After he is sedated Dr. T will inject Jameson's mass continuously with his measured dose of Stelfonta. They insert the needle, moving it around inside the mass, releasing the medication throughout his mass.

He will be released that evening and then the hard work begins. As the injections attack his mass it will hopefully begin to die, opening a wound as the mass detached from his skin. We need to prevent him from getting to it and also prevent him from falling on it as it needs to stay as sterile as possible to avoid infection. It can't be covered so this will be a big challenge but so worth it if it kills the cancer as it should. He is still a baby and deserves this chance to be cancer free and enjoy life.

Will you help him on his journey, help him have a future? You can be a hero today.....

Someone is having a bad morning. Jameson is pretty down and has vomited several times. We gave him some meds and he finally just laid down, hopefully he'll feel better when he wakes up so we can scrub his kennel. (We fought to pick up his sludge so he didn't eat it but he was biting pretty bad, getting worked up, so we still need to scrub)

Did we ever introduce you to Jameson? Jameson was a housemate of Mickie's that came in at 5 weeks old. He was sitting in a shelter after being found in a ditch. The shelter immediately saw he was not adoptable and after he passed out a few times they put him in a dark room by himself until his stray hold was up and he could be euthanized. No medical care, no diagnosis just a death sentence for a puppy.

NO....that isn't acceptable so we stepped in. We named him Jameson, in all honesty, because he looked tanked when he would go into an episode. Our vet led to specialists and finally a diagnosis for Jameson, (sudden passing out) with (lack of muscle control). With answers we were able to determine our next steps for Jameson.

Getting Jameson settled we also encountered Jameson's mode. Like an epileptic, Jameson needs to bite down coming out of episodes to get some stability in his brain. He will bite anything, including you to steady his world. We all needed to do some adjusting to create a safe place/world for this little guy. And we did, with the wonderful generosity of our supporters.

Jameson has been in daily training for the simple basics. He knows them but we are trying to get him to focus more on them when episodes come or pass. With the cataplexy, potty training is also a challenge some days. But outside of his episodes, Jameson is an absolute goof, happy as can be doing zoomies & playing. He has so much zest for life, that it outweighs his episodes. We vowed that as long as he has a great quality of life he would always have a safe environment to live in.

Him and Mickie used to have mini conversations, barking back and forth. Her doing her Sassy dance, him eventually passing out from the excitement. We miss those days so much....the clicking of Mickie's nails on the floor... it's just silence that is deafening.

Just before Mickie passed, we found a lump on Jameson's back leg. It was small, like a peanut, so we watched it. Just after Mickie went over the bridge the lump grew to the size of a walnut. We took him in and were heartbroken to hear that Jameson has mast cell cancer. We did an ultrasound and he is clear of cancer everywhere else (YAY!!!!) but we need to attack his tumor now before it can spread.

Jameson is a sass pants like Mickie, he tells us off frequently 🤣. Maybe her sass passed to him as we see her in him often....then we see his own attitude too. Due to a lot of factors we wanted to share Jameson and his journey here. Like Mickie, Jameson is he deserves a life filled with love....and he will always have that here. Dogs with narcolepsy are not common, so maybe we can help others with Jameson's journey. I think Mickie would approve 😜

Where Jameson's mass is, it isn't a candidate for surgical removal. The margins would be horrible. So with Dr. Ts suggestions we began some deep research. We also started him on some holistic treatment to hopefully keep it from spreading until we decided on a treatment plan. Well, we have a treatment plan! Jameson went in today to get the measurements of his tumor taken and now we work to raise the funds for his treatment. Jameson is only 2 years old and deserves every possible chance to beat this cancer. He deserves a healthy, sassful life and we are determined to help him. Cancer at two years old...how cruel life has been to our boy. But with your help we can hopefully change that!

Will you help him in his journey?

We were just brought to tears. 😢

Our good friend and our favorite vet tech made this for us for Christmas. Sassy's paw & little nose forever captured in her favorite color.

Gosh we miss her so much. Her Sass, her tippy-tappy dance even her horrible p**p parties. We have not been able to pack up all her things yet, we go in to start and the memories hit. In time maybe....

We hope everyone had a Sassy Christmas 🎅
