Happy moment this morning! One of my female Pardosa lugubris sacs hatched, excited to start a captive breeding project with these ladies next year! I have two females the second is waiting to hatch still but such a fun way to come into the world on a “piggy back ride” stunning little wolf spiders that go over looked in my opinion.

So I’m sure some are curious what happened with the 60 cube, I ended up removing the front panel which was posted to my story due to calcium build up and scratches. I made a little “step by step” of the process I did to make the setup. Next step will be planting alongside installing the new “museum glass” front panel and figuring out the lid!

Today’s exciting new addition is Venezillo sp. ‘brown bear’ of you’ve ever kept any of these tiny fellows you’ll understand why the photo isn’t the best of quality! They’re speedy and really don’t enjoy being above the surface for long 😅

Another beautiful new to Canada variant! We have P. ornatus ‘witches brew’ super excited to start working with these guys and have them available for the Canadian hobbyist in the near future!

Starting this week off on a better foot! These sales will be running until May 27th the day following the Toronto reptile expo! These are far from the only species we will be bringing BUT you’ll have to come by and check out what else we have in store for sales.

One of the stunning acquisitions recently Hottentotta franzwerneri, I’m happy to be working with more arachnids again! Uncertain if this lovely lady will end up as a breeding project or just a pet but either way she’s her to stay!

Couple of the fun displays I now have kicking around the house, I brought them yesterday to Toronto for the expo. The one houses cubaris white duckies and the other porcellio magnificus. Gonna be making a bunch more for not only the shows but home decor too! 😂 when the hobby expands into your home you know your winning.

Gonna be bring lots of newer release animals and some exciting displays, jumpers are also going to be available in limited numbers so make sure you drop by! Meant to post these the other day I had a recent pick up from got a few other things alongside these gloss snails and coral force snail as well! Buuuut those will come with future posts. But I wanted to try something different to help keep the pod bins a bit cleaner and have some new pets to work with at the same time! When you’re looking for snails or slugs to add some interesting CuC to a bioactive Corbins your man!

One of the more obscure isopods in the industry, personally I think they’re an ugly duckling compared to A.gestroi but nonetheless a gem in their own right! The purple hue that comes on these A.depressum is amazing, I thoroughly enjoy working with this species. Very very unrated in the Canadian market!

Open the bin to feed this morning and we have lots and lots of breeding action going on! Not the best pictures but nice to see! This group has been in our care for around 2 years now and houses 60++ adult specimens in hopes to bring make them more readily available to the average hobbyist. With the specialty requirements for breeding and larvae growth/feeding they can be a minor pain but we are working on figuring out alternative food sources as we speak!

Just a quick display today, been meaning to do one for our forked fungus beetles to showcase. Instead of the old breeding bin/setup that looks like nada 😂 I think it turned out half decent! Let us know in the comments your thoughts or if you’ve worked with this species.

Some fun photos from today’s adventure in the woods, this little white jawed jumper (hentzia mitrata) was the highlight mind you out of all the discoveries! Such a beautiful tiny species almost missed it while looking for other friends.

Happy Halloween everyone!!! Several of the pods around are enjoying some pumpkins these past couple of weeks, pumpkin is an amazing supplemental food item for our detritivore friends! We have around 15-20 coming from neighbours and family for cutting up and freezing for food later.

Bit of a spotlight today, A.badium formerly known as A.sp ‘casteldaccia’ or A. sp. ‘Sicily’
These guys are a show stopper with the variability between darker colours to lighter make them a welcome addition to any bioactive environment.

Huge shout out to for the giant load of beautiful baby regals yesterday!! 225 from two batches of lovely ladies cappi and latte!
I want to also give a massive shout out to for coming through last minute with fruit fly cultures for us as usual! These guys are amazing if your in the gta you should totally hit them up for your feeder needs!!!

So as some of you may know I enjoy hiking a lot, so during my hikes normally I collect any trash I can if it won’t naturally break down on its own. Getting a lot of this whole theory that flooding bins is a negative thing, as someone with literally hundreds of thousands of bugs I pour a 500ml/litre of water on average into a bin once a week. Yes the water pools but it absorbs quickly into the substrate or into the moss, with zero ill effects to the animals.
