I believe it’s the breeders responsibility ( as they take the money) to give the baby all the tools to be a great companion parrot and that includes harness training…..young birds can put pressure on harnesses and that’s why the breeders, the ones that are experienced working macaws, are the best ones to train them… as opposed to the new home who will struggle harness training and a Blue and Gold ….. if you are concerned that a harness could break ….. it’s a pretty easy work around to tie a knot at the two joins….. I have always done this just as a safety precaution…. It’s no big deal and I’ve never had an inciden

enerally I would just delete this comment but I will address it. This is the problem with online information. This person is creating a false narrative that the bird isn’t happy because it’s not fluffy and probably cold. For one we live in the semi tropics and it’s summer for two it’s a baby learning, you cannot expect baby birds to be experienced in an activity when they are just learning. If this bird was unhappy it would use its full wings to get into flight mode …voice its alarm and try to escape the situation… …. In the video you can hear the baby connecting … these sounds are from an inquisitive bird with a positive response. I build on this …. This is how you introduce new experiences to baby macaws. So whoever is behind this fake Gina account … by trying to be assertive with your false narrative..you are part of the problem, it confuses people and doesn’t support the wellbeing of the bird.
