The craft show has begun. South Lyon High School, 10 am to 3 pm. If you have cats or friends/family with cats we have awesome catnip toys. We have many other great items for sale too including snuffle mats, wand toys, scrubbies, knitted hats, foster cat art calendars, and more. Every dollar taken in goes to the animals in our care.
Bea will be at the adoption event Saturday and Sunday at Petco in Brighton. See flier for details.
Biscuits anyone? Bea is a 4 1/2 month old loving orange female who will be at the adoption event Saturday and Sunday at Petco in Brighton Bea is a little shy but loves attention from her humans and the company of other cats. When giving her some tlc, she will roll over for belly rubs and sometimes keeps on rolling while petting her that she falls off the tower or bed wherever you are petting her. She enjoys bird watching while looking out the windows, and her toys. She does well with the other foster kittens and young adult cat in the home. She is not fond of the dogs in the home so no dogs. Due to her shyness from sudden movements no young kids either and a quiet low activity home. She might get over some of her shyness once in a home without dogs.
She will do well with other young cats or as an only, provided her people give her plenty of attention to continue helping her get over her shyness. Orange females are relatively rare with only 20% of orange cats being female.
Bea is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FELV tested negative and microchipped.
If interested in this biscuit making cutie, please fill out an application. We cannot guarantee same day adoption without an approved application prior to the event. We will take applications the day of the event.

Just over 2 hours left for today's bottle drive. We have a violinist playing just outside Pet Supplies Plus. No idea how long he will be here but it's nice for us volunteers to have a little entertainment.
We are here until 3 pm and again tomorrow 11 am to 3 pm. Parking lot of Pet Supplies Plus in South Lyon
ADOPTED!!!
Lumen is still at Petco in Brighton and will remain there only through Sunday as she has been in the store far too long. She got a couple of new toys the other day and as seen in this video is enjoying them.
Lumen is still a baby at just 6 months old but doesn't care for other animals so needs to be the only pet in the home. It's been exhausting to see several apps come in that have other pets, lying about their living situation, backing out, and other reasons. When we say no pets, no young kids or other criteria we say it for a reason. We get these cats and kittens out of bad situations, work hard at getting to know them, and spend time and money on them, so we know what is best. We want them in the right home so they can live their best life.
Lumen is an amazing, fabulous, beautiful, adorable, fun, and hilarious girl who will be your best friend. She loves people,
is a volunteer favorite, and we know somebody is out there for her.
She must be the only pet.
No young children as she gets very stimulated with attention and nibbles.
She is young, so plan on 15+ years.
She would prefer somebody that is home more often.
Help us find Lumen a home. She has had thousands of views but the right family hasn't come along. We don't want to send her back to the foster home where she will have to be separated from the other cats meaning not as much human attention. Let's make this happen and get our black beauty out of the store by the weekend.

Freya The Fighter Update:
The PCR results for Freya confirmed she is FELV positive and it's progressive. This means it's in her bone marrow and she cannot fight it off. We are working with a FELV sanctuary who will be looking to place her in a foster home in May after she recovers from her spay surgery on April 29th.
She was under the weather Monday morning running a high fever, lethargic, not wanting to eat, and had a runny eye. We got her going on an antibiotic and later in the day she started perking up. She saw our vet on Tuesday and it's believed she had a reaction to her 1st vaccine from last week which can happen sometimes in cats and kittens. It is not the FELV that made her sick. She has perked up and back to her spunky self with the fever was gone by Tuesday morning.
As you can see in this video Freya is a spunky playful girl. She likes toys bigger than she is. She may be tiny and petite for her age but she is mighty. Freya has so much life in her that it's hard to believe her life will sadly be short. For now Freya is living the good life with a couple who adore her and will continue to care for her until she moves onto a FELV rescue.
Freya the Fighter update:
This little girl has a few things going on but has been incredibly resilient. She was in a temporary foster home for a week and now in the long term foster home. Freya got into one of our vets last week who discovered she also has ear mites and demodex mites. Her fur feels crusty. She received a treatment that can help kill the mites for her ears and skin, and will require a couple of more monthly treatments. She has received multiple baths with a medicated shampoo. The water turns brown which is likely the dead skin cells. Poor thing in addition to freezing was itchy and shaking her little noggin' from those pesty mites. She is also on an antibiotic for a uri and has a vaporizer running in the room she is hanging out in. She is no longer having diahrrea so shouldn't be at risk of dehydrating.
She is clearly feeling better. She is eating good, both wet and canned food and her weight is heading in the right direction, up to 1.35 lbs. She still has the big 'ol barrel belly but it's not slowing her down.
She is playing now too as seen in this video, and we just love seeing her act like a kitten. She doesn't like to be alone and is a chatty gal. Fortunately, the foster works from home and can constantly check up on her and she is getting lots of tlc.
Freya has a long road ahead of her to be where she needs to be and we are there for her for as long as needed. Please keep sending Freya pawsitive energy for continued healing. Freya is a very sweet little girl that has so much fight in her and we will keep fighting with her.
