Role models like we used to have!

“During one movie, there was a little goat on the set. The owner said hurry up and finish your scene because Sunday is my nephew's communion and we have to cook it on the grill!
I bought the animal and tied it with a rope and brought it to the five-star hotel. I took it up to my room, what a scandal! That day I decided to leave the cinema and help the animals. It was June 1973, I was 38 years old.”

Brigitte Bardot

You said he was a burden, that he held you back. Now, he sits in his kennel, food untouched, eyes reflecting the emptiness. Was it the walks you hated? The sloppy kisses? He waits by the door, tail thumping against the cold concrete. Hours turn to days, days to weeks. Still, he waits. His love, a silent plea for your return.

He doesn't deserve this. Think twice before bringing a furry friend home. Love is a lifetime commitment, not a disposable accessory.

Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend. Dogs are family ❤

What a fabulous idea!

What a fabulous idea!

My favorite story so far. An animal shelter posted something along the lines of "if you are an adult and don't want people to know you are playing pokemon, we will rent our shelter dogs to you for $5 an hour so it
looks like you are walking your dog." Haha, right? Here are some of the results so far:

1) They now have a waiting list of people who want to PAY FOR THE PRIVELAGE OF WALKING A DOG.

2) They have made so much money in "rental fees" that they have waived adoption fees

3) When the people renting the dogs are out walking, the post pictures of themselves playing the game on FB and Instagram. People are then coming to the
shelter asking to adopt specific dogs.

4) On at least two occasions, people have called the shelter and said "Hey, i didn't think I wanted a dog. But me and THIS dog get along REALLY well. I'm not bringing him back"

5) The shelter currently has no dogs avaliable to rent, and there is a waiting list. Because all of the dogs have been adopted!! They are currently bringing dogs in from a different shelter to be "rented"

🐾 Meet Cerberus, a Lovable 7-Year-Old Saint Bernard Ready for a New Adventure! 🐶

Located in Williams Lake, British Columbia, Cerberus is in search of a forever home filled with love and companionship. Due to new work demands, his current owners are sadly unable to provide him with the time and attention he deserves.

Cerberus is a gentle giant who adores the company of other dogs and children. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, however, he is not neutered. Despite his age, Cerberus is full of love and affection, and he longs to be a part of a family that can spend quality time with him. As you can see from the second picture, he also helps with laundry.

Having experienced changes in his owners' work schedules, Cerberus has found himself spending more time alone than he would prefer. His attachment to people makes him a loyal and devoted companion, yearning for human interaction and love.

If you are ready to open your heart and home to Cerberus, a loyal and loving Saint Bernard, please reach out to us to fill out a pre-adoption screening form. Let's help Cerberus find a new beginning filled with happiness and warmth. ❤️🏡

Please note: the adopter will be contractually obligated to neuter Cerberus and provide proof of the procedure from the veterinarian who performed it.

This should NEVER be an option!

Mississauga pet owners, it never has to get to this point. 💔

If you have a pet you can no longer care for, please know you have options before abandoning them.

A dog was abandoned outside of the Animal Services Shelter in the middle of the night. He was left with all of his belongings but no further information, making it difficult to know how to best take care of him.

The shelter will work with you to find a positive solution for you and your pet, or you can consider rehoming them.

Meet Duncan, the adorable 5-year-old St. Bernard in search of a chill spot to call home! City life stresses him out, so he's on the lookout for a laid-back retirement pad away from the hustle and bustle of Winnipeg. Duncan's best match? Someone retired, semi-retired, a couple with grown children or someone working from home.

Duncan is UTD on all vaccines and is neutered. Coping with anxiety, Duncan finds relief with his prescribed medication…which he may not need if he is in a more suburban or even rural homestead. He's a good boy - housebroken, crate-trained, and not destructive in any way. Duncan hangs well with other dogs, but his cat compatibility is untested. His anxiety means he's not the best fit for homes with little ones. He craves attention and loves leisurely walks.

Despite being loved, Duncan's current setup isn't a perfect fit. His owner is reluctantly seeking a better match. If Duncan tugs at your heartstrings or you want more info, shoot us a message on Messenger so we can send you our pre-adoption form. Let's help Duncan find his dream furever home.

🐾 Harry Potter fans: meet Albus! This loveable gentle giant, a majestic 3.5-year-old St. Bernard looking for a forever home!🏡 This lovable house dog may think he's a lap dog, but his strength is more than meets the eye. He's been immaculately groomed and cared for, exuding spirit and charm. He currently lives near Hamilton, Ontario.

Although he's a bit too strong for his current owner, he's a young-at-heart companion who thrives on consistency. Albus is neutered, adores people, and enjoys controlled meet-and-greets with new furry friends. While he's spoiled with love, he's also spirited and eager to please.

This St. Bernard does well in kennels, both socializing or relaxing in his own space, and he absolutely loves grooming sessions (nail cutting aside 😉). His current family knows he will bring joy and love to a home that can handle his enthusiastic heart.

Are you ready to welcome this bundle of joy and strength into your life? Let's find this big, beautiful boy the loving and consistent home he deserves. 💕

URGENT Rehome needed.

Meet Bane, a magnificent 2.5-year-old male Saint Bernard weighing 125lbs, a rare gem seeking a loving family as his current owner prepares for a bone marrow transplant and extended hospitalization. With a kind heart and gentle demeanor, Bane deserves a special home where he can thrive.

Not yet neutered based on his veterinarian's recommendation, Bane is a big softie who enjoys cuddling and is fully housetrained. Despite his size, he is well-behaved and doesn't destroy anything. He finds solace in his 5 x 5 crate with the door open, where he loves to relax.

Bane has lived harmoniously with other pets (dogs and cats) and older children but prefers a calm environment over chaos. He can be protective in the neighborhood due to past incidents with other dogs, but with the right guidance and understanding, his behavior can improve. His owners wet his food to keep him hydrated and he has no known allergies.

As his owner undergoes treatment, ensuring Bane's well-being is crucial. It's essential to find him a family who understands the breed, has experience with big dogs, and can dedicate time to work with him. Our priority is to place Bane in a loving home where he can live out his wonderful life happily and cherished. Currently in Hawkesbury, Ontario, transport to the perfect match is available. Let's find Bane the perfect family to provide him with the care and love he deserves.

ADOPTION FEE WAIVED

Mara is still looking for a home. How incredibly sad that she's had no apps that match her needs. 🥺

Raised in a crackhouse with multiple unvetted dogs, had just given birth, emaciated and literally tossed away with her babies like trash. 😭

This gorgeous girl has come such a long way. Shes spayed, vaccinated, chipped and desperately looking for her forever.

We'd love to see her in a home with a family with calm adult sized children, another well balanced large dog(s) to play with and a fenced yard for her to play and finally be a dog. ☺️ NO CATS

This girl really deserves the most! Please help us find Mara her people. 🫶❤️

Thanks to Makenzie for being a super amazing foster mom ❤️

Beware of this group. Possible scam. Same three posters are “Top Contributors” and they post pictures of dogs that clearly aren’t theirs, including obituaries for dogs which, you guessed it, are also not theirs. I have blocked the posters and reported the group.

We are willing to help you relocate any St. Bernard. Just post to our group.
