Me and my mister, one of the two loves of my life. Almost 7 years with me now. ❤️

There are lots of moments that I could shoot him, when he bites the buttons of my Bose headphones or almost killed my Apple pencil. He prefers quality tech just like his mom. 🥴😅 But this comes with having a cockatoo, they just love demolishing things.

In the end, all of this disappears to the back of my mind when I think of all our highlights. His assistance as my work buddy during busy home office days, his loud and funny Karen rants out of nowhere.. and our daily dogatoo cuddle sessions in the sofa. 🤗🥰

I just love this little white cloud so much. ❤️

Dear Fleur de Sel. Thank you for bringing so much color to my life the past 14 years. 😢

It was just the two of us 14 years ago. I was planning to leave my parents house and got you as my sassy and loud roommate.

And it was a great match. I soon discovered you adored hiding in cardboard boxes and loved shredding my bills. And when I once came home with a boyfriend, you pooped on him. 😂 You had a keen eye for people.

Over the years we moved a few times, you even joined me in Amsterdam. There Marni joined our little family. But although he was 5 times your size, you remained the boss and Marni was scared of you.

Back in Belgium you shared the bird room. And when Marni did a prison break, he set you free as well. So much love there after all. You loved your little bird house, your coconut and all the tissue boxes we saved for you to shred.

Your biggest fan was Rémi. He was so fond of your colors and loved to greet you every morning. I'll tell him it was your time to fly over the 🌈 bridge to all your colorful birdie friends. And every time we'll see a 🌈, we'll wave to you..

Goodbye my little Cellebel, you will be missed a lot. ❤️

Meet my work buddy. 👩🏼‍💻Since I work from home most of the time, I let Marni sit with me for a while daily. Particularly when I don't have too many meetings, since he likes to tap my headphones. 😅

And when he's not sitting on his globe, he sits on my lap/shoulder.. And sometimes he likes to sit on the windowsill and watch the cars pass by, just like cats and dogs do.

So peaceful to watch him. ❤️ (he's saving all his energy for the evening, then he'll do his rant and might rearrange the cushions again. 🫣)

Time flies by when you're having fun. Rémi starts school on Thursday and I'm so proud. He's such a smart kid, always open to learn and try out new things.

He's a big boy now, who loves to make his own demands, has regular tantrums, but luckily still needs his mom to kiss his pains away. ❤️

And one thing remains the same: his endless love and excitement for Marni. Even when Marni is a little bit fed up with the toddler energy, he's learning to keep his distance (which can be hard sometimes).

We're curious and excited for this new school chapter to start.. 💪🏼

When he sees this electric mani pedi machine he starts tapping it, like 'mom, please do my nails.. Like NOW!' I put on the file and he started touching it, like helping me do his mani pedi. It was the first time I did it like this.. This bird is too funny. 😂👌🏼

Marni is no longer clipped, that's why he wears a harness when sitting with us. But now that he has his own outside aviary, it will be so much more fun in our garden together. 😌👌🏼Have a lovely day everybirdie.

He has this reaction with random things. Sometimes he hates them, loves them.. Todays' arch nemesis is this plush pineapple (ananas in Dutch).

Rémi asks me almost every evening if Marni can join him for bedtime, to sit close to him while he's drinking his milk and to read a book together. Marni loves it as long as Rémi is not too energized and wild. Then he gets too much stimuli and tells/shows me it's too much for him. I respect Marni's signs, since I don't want him to dislike Rémi. Birds like Marni can be very unpredictable, so I always remain very careful when they are together.

In the end, my ultimate goal is that Rémi will ask me in 20 years if Marni can go and live with him. ☺️
