Aww a happy ending ❤️
From 10th June this year it’s going to be a legal requirement that all owned cats are microchipped to ensure any lost, stolen or injured cats, have the best chance of being reunited with their owners as quickly as possible.
Boo’s story is a great reminder of how important it is to have your pet microchipped ❤️🐾
After SEVEN long years of being apart, our vets were able to reunite Boo with her loving owner, Angie, in 2022 😸 And it was only possible because of her microchip…
Boo went missing from her home back in 2015, turning Angie’s world upside down. Until one day, an unexpected letter arrived at their old house 💌 The family who bought Angie's old house had been in touch to say they had received a letter intended for her. When opening the letter, she couldn't believe what it said 🥹
Boo had been brought into our Bradford Pet Hospital as a stray, and in an attempt to reunite her, our team had located her microchip details 🏥 The telephone number was no longer in service, so a letter was sent to the address registered on Boo's chip. Angie immediately contacted the Pet Hospital to arrange to pick her up, with a hurried stop at a pet shop to buy a new cat bed and food bowls along the way 🐈🥰
When Angie arrived, she was so happy to see Boo again, and the reality finally set in that she would be returning home after all those years 🏡
In just THREE months time, from 10 June 2024, it’s going to be a legal requirement for all owned cats to be microchipped in England ❗
The new rules mean cats must be implanted with a microchip before they reach 20 weeks of age. Pet and owner contact details must be stored and kept up to date in a pet microchipping database 🐱 For the cats found not to be microchipped, owners will be given 21 days to get their cat chipped or face a fine of up to £500 ⏰
