🤍 Gerald was known around the world as the Great White Basset and as our lover boy Ger Bear here at home 🤍

2 seconds into this world, and his lil girl already claimed him as hers 🥰 "The white one, Mom, that's my puppy!" And I knew from that moment he was going to be the most special dog... and he sure was!

If only you knew about all the messages people would send me about him, complete strangers, about how he made their day better just by seeing his posts... you'd be amazed! Or even if I hadn't posted recently, people would check on us. The basset community is such an amazing and beautiful thing! So thank you 🙏

It's been extremely hard not having him here with me 😭 He had so much love to give and a big personality to love... there will never be another one like him 🤍 He was loved so much!!! And he will be missed everyday 🤍

He is gone to be with Merlin now. Our sweet humble demure Donegal. Basset Dad’s best friend. He was one of a kind. A real man and a real friend. I told him about my and Merlin’s place. I said to go meet Merlin there and we’ll be along when the time comes. I have no more words right now. We were lucky to know him. These Jews are going to a Catholic Church tonight to put a candle for this special Irish Catholic.

Jeff passed away peacefully in our arms today at 1:27pm. Jason and I held him in our arms and thanked him for making the last 7 years the most amazing, special and loved years of our lives as he passed. I told him that I loved him so so much. More than anything on this planet. Our love is not tied to this place. It is there in any universe or timeline. No matter what happens here, I’ll never be more proud of anyone than him. You are the love of my life, my soul mate. My sun. My moon. My stars. My whole world. I will miss you for every second of every day. I will see you again and hopefully it doesn’t take too long. Go wait for me with Barney. 💔 Our hearts are broken forever. Goodbye happiness….sunlight….goodbye my beautiful boy.

Today Jeff gets his CT scan and they will take a sample of this mass. This is risky for him with his oxygen. We were going to see him before but don’t want to get him riled up before going under anesthesia. We saw him last night and it was very difficult seeing him hooked up to all these things. Today is his gotcha day. I picked him up 7 years ago as my 22nd birthday present to myself. The best gift and boy in the world. Please keep praying for him. All your prayers and messages mean so much.
