Julia Jasper Pet Grooming I am a professionally-trained pet groomer specializing in private home visit grooming for cats and dogs. I speak fluent English and intermediate French.

I have done professional nationally-accredited cat and dog training overseas, with 4 accredited pet groomer trainers, each with 25+ years of teaching and groomer experience. I have up-to-date certificates in Feline (Cat) Emergency First Aid and Canine (Dog) Emergency First Aid. My training includes canine and feline grooming, safety, health, welfare, hygiene, sanitation, animal psychology and behaviour. I use high quality gentle pet-safe products, including from the United Kingdom and Europe (when available). Each groom session includes a consultation, groomer health check, post-groom debrief. I am always happy to discuss issues and practical ways to enhance animal clients' welfare, relationships and environment in the household. I see and treat your pet as a complex, sensitive, living creature. PART III: Is Home Visit Pet Grooming Worth It?

This is a frequent question that many people are thinking, specifically in relation to financial cost. It is a question that I as a pet parent and foster carer asked myself, before I trained and became a pet groomer.

My short answer:
It doesn't matter where or how you choose to groom your pets - you are free to choose what works best for the needs of your pet and yourself.

My longer answer:
There is a lot of information online on the advantages and disadvantages and safety implications of which type of pet grooming option to chose.

Home visit pet grooming is a premium service at a higher price point, just like having a hairdresser or vet make a house call to you. It is not going to be within everyone's budget.

There are pets who will have no problem being groomed at a vet clinic or salon. There are pets whose grooming needs can be easily addressed by their humans at home. Home visit grooming is an option for:
- owners who cannot easily access a salon or clinic for a number of reasons
- pets who do not cope well travelling or being in a vet clinic or salon
- pets who do not cope well being around several unknown humans or animals
- pets who do not cope well with traditional ways of grooming i.e. placed on a high table and expected to stand for notable periods (dogs).

It also offers a greater degree of flexibility and comfort for the pet than grooming at a salon or clinic (have a search of "home call professional grooms" online). I have groomed animals on a blanket on the floor, the sofa, on tables and even a nervous one in the bathtub. Home visit grooms can be set up in bathrooms, laundries and kitchens as well as the study and salon. If an animal is very stressed, their owner and I have rescheduled the rest of the groom for another day.

Home Call Pet Grooming particularly benefits:

- Animals who are shy, timid, fearful or unable to be around unknown humans or other animals.

PART I: What Is Home Visit Pet Grooming?

I bring my grooming shop to your home and set up in a room that will help keep your animal safe and secure. I receive the same high-quality grooming that I provide to my own animals and in the salon and grooming schools that I've trained and worked in.

This is a convenient option for people who have challenges accessing or scheduling a groom salon or grooming at a vet clinic. Importantly, this is an option for animals that have challenges travelling or coping with grooming in an unfamiliar environment, a salon, a vet clinic, or a mobile grooming truck parked outside your home.

MES CLIENTS CANINS

Also sharing some of my wonderful past canine clients from Japan. Lucky, Kimi-Maru and Mai were some of my regulars.

I have continuously studied different groups and breeds of dogs since age 10, rehabilitating and having my own dogs. Growing up, I was the pet groomer, trainer and chief dog walker in my family - no one else was interested or lasted as long! I really enjoyed researching and solving problems that my animals experienced, and challenges that friends' animals had.

I petsat (and continue to petsit) for many friends and colleagues, caring for rabbits, cats and dogs. Dogs I have worked a lot with include German Shepherds, Samoyed, Labradors, Border Collie, Schnauzer, Cocker Spaniel, Staffordshire Terrier, pugs and Chihuahua.

I have also groomed Bernese Mountain Dog, giant rescue Caucasian and Russian Shepherds and large German Shepherds, Rottweiler, Malinois, Huskies, Spitzes, Pomeranians, English Setter, Golden Retrievers, Pekingnese, Bulldogs and Shiba Inu.
