Ides of March Berger Picards Berger Picards (and their human) in North Carolina, USA Why "Ides of March"? Our dogs are family members first and foremost.

The 15th of March is a historically important date, most frequently associated with the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE. For us, however, it commemorates the birthdate of our very first Berger Picard, Eden de la Jassette du Cap del Mas. Eden was a sweet brindle boy from France who came to live with us at 18 months of age. While with us, he showed us the meaning of the term "heart dog" and

will forever inspire us to work for the betterment of the Berger Picard. Ides of March Berger Picards offers breed education about our wonderful rustic French herding breed and occasionally may have puppies available. Success in the conformation ring and other performance activities is a lovely bonus we enjoy. We seek to improve the quality of the Berger Picard here in the United States. Our breedings are carefully planned with a focus on health and temperament, along with correct structure according to the FCI breed standard. We prefer to place our pups in show and performance homes, however all inquiries will be carefully considered. Pups are whelped and raised in our home. We believe in Early Neurological Stimulation and socialize our pups to multiple stimuli, sounds, and people while they are with us. An Ides of March Picard is a life-long commitment, but we will ALWAYS take back any of our dogs at any time in the dog's lifetime for any reason.

We are expecting guests for Thanksgiving! Reesie (GCH Ides of March Runs With Scissors DDG DDBE) is confirmed in whelp to Francis (GCH Cairdean’s Throwbac Another For Double D FDC CGCA TKN). This litter goes back on both sides to the dogs I first fell in love with when I got into the breed. Both fawn and brindle puppies are possible and we expect lovely temperaments with gorgeous structure and movement.

Congratulations to Dave, Kyle, and Staci on your new CH! River (Igor x Mina) was WD/BW today in Raleigh for a major to finish his championship. Thank you to judge Mr. Robert Shreve for recognizing our boy!

Tessa, Token, Mina, Urchine, River (from our Igor x Mina litter), and Basia (from our Solo x Mina litter) went to Salem, VA this weekend for the dog show.

Saturday, Tessa and Urchine went Reserve to majors in their respective breeds, Token was SD for a GCH major, and River and Basia showed great, but got no love from the judge. Mina did her job to hold the major. 😉

Sunday, Tessa was WB/BOS/OHBOB, with Basia taking Reserve to the major. River looked great and Mina was solid. In Pyr Sheps, Urchine was WB and BOS over a special for her second major, Token was SD, shown by his breeder and co-owner, Donald Schneider.

Thank you to everyone who helped me juggle dogs, take them back in, showed them for me, etc., and thank you to our judges, Mr. Kirkland and Dr. Keating, for recognizing my crew.

Super proud of Jill and Revel (Igor x Mina)!

Congratulations to Jill and Revel (Igor x Mina) on finishing his Graduate Open obedience title today. He finished with extra flair:

“Revel finished his grad open with a 196.5, lost 1.5 pts for a glove fetch, toss, bounce off the butt , spin, caught in mid air, so sorry we didn't have a video!”

Token, Nova, and Mina played some agility this weekend. Token completed his Open FAST title, Nova (finally!) finished her Open JWW, and Mina picked up another Q toward her Novice JWW title.
