It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 5 years to the day that we launched Nature Tails at Real Springfield, TN’s Friday Night Market! We’ve loved seeing our little idea of supporting farmers and making your pups happy come to fruition. It’s National Small Business Week! So, we thought it was time for a reintroduction. Our names are Kevin Mead and Darin Richardson. We started Nature Tails in 2019. The idea for Nature Tails hit us when we were on a 27 mile, 3 day hike on the Appalachian Trail with our 4 dogs. We both have a passion for supporting farms and decided to source our ingredients from Small Family farms. Since 2019 we have partnered with nearly 20 small family farms allowing 95% of our ingredients to be traced back to the farm they came from. We have expanded to be in retail stores, online, and at farmers markets around middle Tennessee!

NATIONAL DOG BITE PREVENTION WEEK
Nature Tails was Co-founded by a Pediatric Emergency Nurse who saw his fair share of dog bites. Here are a few Tips!
TIP #1 - EDUCATE: Teach your kiddos how to approach
and pet a dog. Just remember “Make an O, and take it
slow”. Don’t forget to always ask permission first!
TIP #2 - ENVIRONMENT: While dogs are man’s best friend, they are still an animal with natural instincts. Teach your children to not startle dogs who are sleeping, eating, or dogs with puppies. They are in vulnerable states and may act out of fear or protection.
TIP #3 - ETIQUETTE: If you see a yellow ribbon on a leash, it means the pup needs some space. They are either in training, aren’t child friendly, or have fear/ anxiety issues.
