Today, after developing an aggressive and destructive oral tumor, Lucky crossed the rainbow bridge.

He was brazen and brave. We named him Lucky because he had been damned lucky that he hadn’t been hit by a car yet. He’d cross the street with the entitlement of a NYer in a crosswalk. He owned his life, and did as he pleased. He was cunningly smart and strong. He could open treat jars in seconds. He didn’t hesitate to rip open boxes that smelled as if they contained food or catnip toys. He was a companion as he chose, and a nesting expert.

He refused to ever be an indoor cat, but will forever be in our hearts.

We went to meet our new Vet yesterday at PAWS Health Partners. Mom said that everyone in the office was excellent, and the dividers in the waiting area are so smart! We are both up to date on our vaccines now, but mom says that we are Never EVER allowed to go together anymore.
Chewstopher wouldn’t stop barking
And
Ow’a got fresh with the Vet.
Not sure why mom is mortified.

In addition to kidney failure, Twix has also developed heart disease and an ulcer in her mouth. She’ll be getting subcutaneous fluids over the next few days, and we have antibiotics for her mouth. The vet mentioned that it might be time to think about end of life planning… :l
