Charlotte - The Cat In The Wall Charlotte is our petite little polydactyl grey Tabby who came into our lives in August 2001 in a very unique way. Her story is one that I will cherish forever.

Charlotte (named after Charlotte Bronte, the author) is a petite polydactyl grey Tabby that has captured our hearts and our love since we first met her in 2001. We were having dinner at a Beaverton eatery called "Hall Street Grill & Bar". My two daughters went into the ladies room after dinner and came out a few minutes later. "Mom, there is something in the wall in the bathroom. It sounds like a

tiny bird or a kitten!" I got up and went to hear the sound. It definitely sounded like a faint little mew. I decided to approach the restaurant manager and I was surprised by what he said. "Yes, we know. A feral cat had kittens in the attic and one fell down in the wall last Thursday." LAST THURSDAY?! It is now Saturday night!! I told the manager that, if he could get the kitten out of the wall, I would take the kitten. He told me that he could call his wife and have her bring down his jigsaw and he would call me when they got it out. We went home, anxious to hear from the manager. Around 9:30pm, he called and said that they got the kitten out, although they missed it the first time because they cut a hole on the wrong side of the stud. My older daughter and I drove back to the restaurant and there, in the wife's hand, was the tiny kitten. She was so small that she could be held in one hand. Her eyes were barely opened. Thankfully, they had somehow gotten a small bottle (I think someone at the restaurant helped them) and they turned the sweet little kitten over to me. We already had two Labrador retrievers but we didn't think twice about the kitty. I must admit that, at first, I figured I may just be a foster parent, but in no time at all, I knew that Charlotte was ours for keeps. She bonded to me because I fed her with calf's replacement milk, every three hours, for three weeks! She went everywhere with me in a small pet carrier - restaurants (it looked like a purse), theaters, shopping, etc. I love her to pieces. She does have the independence of a feral cat but, over the years, she has mellowed into a very sweet, petite kitty. I don't think she would have lasted another twenty-four hours in the wall. As far as the mommy cat and other litter mates, the restaurant called animal control. Charlotte is now 15-1/2 years old and she still looks and acts like a kitten! She loves her brother, Mango Chutney, who we got when Charlotte was two to be her buddy. They are so cute together! Please like and share Charlotte's story!

Sweet little Charlotte decided that she had full access to everything in the garage! Here she is crawling through Dad's old tool cabinet as well as on top of his kegerator! She was a smart, strong-willed, independent kitty that we loved sooo much! 🥰❤️

Charlotte was so cute. You can see she prefers to remain somewhat feral. She allows me to pet her but after she's had enough, she would gently let me know. Never, ever hurt me. She was a sweetheart with an attitude! ❤️❤️❤️

This video was from Aug. 12, 2017. It's a sweet memory of Charlotte when we were getting ready to pour a cement pad for our hot tub. Charlotte wanted to be our "supervisor" and approve the spot. She was such a sweet, curious kitty. ❤️❤️❤️

Charlotte wishes you all a very Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️ She left me this one day. 😊

Charlotte just loved watching the hummingbirds that visited the hummingbird feeder. She'd make these really cute clicking sounds and tiny mews. Does your cat do the same?
