Remember, if it’s too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it’s too hot for their paw pads! ⚠️

If you’re unsure whether it’s okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds ⏱️

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it’s best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.

💡 Unlike us humans when a dog inhales, the air doesn't just go straight to their lungs.

Part of it goes into a special area in their noses specifically designed for smelling.

This part of their nose can hold onto scents, so even as they continue to breathe, they're analysing every bit of smell in the air.

Dogs can exhale through those little slits on the sides of their noses, making room for new scents to come in without pushing out the old ones.

🐾 Dogs have their own unique way of communicating with us and with each other! 🐶🗣️

📍Through their body language, dogs are able to convey a wide range of emotions and intentions. From wagging their tails to barking, they use various signals to express their feelings and needs.

🐾 Tail wagging: A wagging tail doesn't always mean a happy dog. The position and speed of the wag can indicate excitement, fear, or even aggression. Pay attention to the overall body language to better understand what they're trying to communicate.

🐾 Barking: Dogs bark for different reasons - to alert us of danger, express their excitement, or communicate their needs. The tone, pitch, and duration of the bark can provide clues about their emotions and intentions.

🐾 Body posture: The way a dog holds its body can reveal a lot about its mood. A relaxed and loose posture indicates comfort, while a stiff or rigid posture may signal tension or aggression.

🐾 Eye contact: Direct eye contact can be seen as a challenge or a sign of trust, depending on the situation. Dogs use eye contact to communicate their intentions and establish social hierarchies.

🐾 Facial expressions: Just like humans, dogs use their facial expressions to convey their emotions. A relaxed face with soft eyes and a slightly open mouth is a sign of contentment, while a tense face with wide eyes can indicate fear or anxiety.

🐶🤝 Understanding how dogs communicate is essential for building a strong bond with our furry friends. Let's pay attention to their signals and respond with love, patience, and understanding! 🐕❤️

🐾 FUN FACT 🐾

🐶Did you know that puppies need around 18-20hours of sleep a day!?

💤 Why is sleep important 💤
sleep is important for your puppy as it helps the physical growth and development. It is also helpful for their mental development as June sleep. Your puppies brain is able to process all new information. They have learnt as a result when they have a good sleep they retain their training better.

🥱Problems if they don’t get enough sleep 🥱
if your puppy does not get enough sleep this can result in your puppy doing more naughty behaviours such as fighting jumping up which can leave you feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.

😴How to help😴
1. Set a routine for your puppy to help them fall asleep during the day as well as at night.
2. Make sure the area that your puppy is falling asleep is nice and quiet for them. Anywhere that’s too noisy could easily wake the puppy up.
3. Before bed do only calming activities to help encourage your puppy to fall asleep. Doing activities such as playing, training which can get a puppy excited can make it harder for them to fall asleep.
