So many enclosures sold in Petshops are below the minimum welfare size for hamsters & other small animals & this is a typical example 😢

We’ve come across some small cages, but this one is among the smallest we've seen. 😮 Here, you can see a store-bought enclosure for a hamster that we've taken in, compared to the average setup!

The ideal home for a hamster is a tank or aquarium, as it provides plenty of space, height, and opportunities for them to dig and explore.

If you’re thinking about bringing a hamster into your home, we highly recommend following our advice to ensure you find the perfect-sized enclosure for your new friend!

Happy 2 Year "Gotcha" day Snowflake & Frost ❄️

As much as we love to celebrate having these beautiful boys sadly this day is a reminder of the cruelty they suffered when they were tiny babies 😢
Its hard to imagine but they were chucked out of a car at Delepre Abbey in Northampton next to a main road.
Whats even more heartbreaking is both these boys are blind 😢

Tiny Tinkerbelle 🧚‍♀️

She may be blind & deaf but is a happy little soul who loves her food 💓

Sadly being a "lethal" piggy ment she was born blind & deaf so knows no different and will likely have a shorter lifespan 😢

All of this could of been avoided, Lethal piggys are born due to dominant genes from breeding roan piggies, If you dont know the genetics dont breed.

Meet our first arrivals of 2025!

5 Beautiful and very well cared for older female piggies 🐹
Sadly their owner could no longer keep them & knew the safest way to rehome them is to surrender to a rescue/sanctuary

The smallest little lady is a lethal so is blind & deaf but she doesn't let this stop her living life to the full 💕

They are all over 5 years old so will be joining our herd once their isolation period is over.

2024 We could not of kept going without the help of everyone who supports us, It honestly means the world to us & the animals we've been able to help because of you 🥳

Its been the toughest year yet with more dumped animals than ever before (Yearly figures will be released tomorrow)
We've battled bad weather, Huge increases in vet bills, Seen horrific cruelty & neglect which has been to graphic to post about, Put ourselves in dangerous situations to get animals safe, Faced a crazy amount of abuse from people.
The stress has massively affected my health & many times Ive considered closing, but I refuse to give up when more than ever before animals need help 💪

Here's to helping many more animals in 2025!!

Many of our followers will remember the story of Lilly & Lenny 🐰

2 out of 4 rabbits dumped next to a canal in Northampton on a scorching hot day in July this year 😢

Lenny was caught that day by the amazing residents who worked hard to get him safe.
We spent 6 hours there the following day and finally got Lilly 💕
They were only young and the area has a lot of foxes so it was really important to catch them quickly 🙏

🐹 Here are the faces of 2024's Abandoned Guinea pigs 🐹

2024 has honestly been the worst year in animal rescue 😢

I wont post the yearly figures of animal intakes yet as Im sure there will be more over the next 2 days 🤦‍♀️

But its definitely been the year of small animals being dumped in the wild, Over the last few days we've been out to a location trying to catch another abandoned rabbit 🐰

Mostly its rabbits that are dumped but this year we've had 5 Guinea pigs in that were found straying in Northampton & Milton Keynes and never claimed 🤬

Forget "Twixmas" We've renamed today "Dandelion Root Day" 🍁

All the buns have enjoyed some yummy Dandelion root in palm leaf bowls that they can chew & play with when they've finished eating thanks to everyone who brought a Christmas box from Hoppy Pets 🐰🎄
