Rescue of the Month - DEGA Mobile Veterinary Care

We donate $1 from each pet care visit to a local animal nonprofit. We saved all summer to support DEGA because they WOW us with their commitment to helping ALL humans keep their pets happy and healthy. Dr. April and an army of awesome volunteers provide free basic veterinary care to the pets of low/no income owners and individuals experiencing homelessness all across the state. Thank you, DEGA Mobile Veterinary Care for caring so much. ❤ 🌈 (in honor of client Brody and the special bond he shared with his senior pet parent.)

Rescue of the Month for Jan/Feb - CLAWS, Inc.

You support our small business so we gratefully give back to our community heroes. We donate $1 from every pet care visit to a local animal nonprofit. CLAWS, Inc. rescues, rehabilitates and speaks for North Carolina wildlife. We especially love how they teach people to safely live in harmony with native wildlife. Thank you to all the volunteers who keep this mission going!

🎄🎁 December Rescue of the Month - Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

We donate $1 from every pet care visit to a local animal nonprofit. Devastated by Hurricane Helene, this amazing group needs our help to rebuild and keep saving cute pups! Give the gift of hope this year instead of buying more stuff. Join us by donating at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/rebuildbw

She spent weeks in a home with her family, who had tragically passed away. Unimaginable.

This morning, Brother Wolf welcomed senior dog, Sugarplum into our care.

We can’t fathom the fear, panic, and confusion she must have felt for so long. Waiting for someone to remember her, to care about her.

Today, her life took a new turn—a hopeful one.

When we said, “Yes, we can help,” our team celebrated with tears and hugs. That moment was made possible - because of you.

Sugarplum’s arrival reminds us why our work is so important. She needs us.

We are 66% of the way to our Phase One fundraising goal—a historic opportunity that will help stabilize, start the rebuilding process, and save countless lives, just like Sugarplum while we do it.

We’re steadily bringing animals into our care at our new temporary facility in Asheville (more updates on this exciting step coming soon!)

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without your generosity and dedication to animals who have no one else coming to help them.

Together, we’ve come so far, in a short time, after such a devastating tragedy- but there is still so much work to be done.

You can help by liking, commenting, or tagging your animal-loving friends and family to help others see this post.

Thank you for being a part of Sugarplum’s story. Thank you for being a part of Rebuilding Brother Wolf. Together, we save lives.

Happy Veteran's Day! November Rescue of the Month is Vets to Vets United, Inc!

From each pet care visit, we donate $1 to a local animal group. Founded by the amazing Dr. Terry Morris, Vets to Vets United, Inc works locally to train and pair rescued shelter dogs with US military veterans who are lonely, suffering from depression, or who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, a traumatic brain injury, or a physical disability. We are SO proud to have them in our community.

Vets to Vets United pairs military veterans with rescue dogs to help with mental or physical disabilities and enhance their quality of life. Improving and saving lives, one veteran and one dog at a time.

Rescue of the Month for Aug/Sept is Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue! We donate $1 from every pet care visit to a local animal group. We're sponsoring this weekend's Gears for Goldens cycling event in honor of a VIP Client that we lost this year. Hudson was a special and unique soul. He gifted us with profound lessons on resiliency, determination and living in the moment. He is deeply missed.

🐮June + July Rescue of the Month - we donate $1 from every visit to a local animal group. We met some of the fabulous volunteers from Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge at their yummy bake sale at Fullsteam last month! To learn more, you can tour their sanctuary in Pittsboro. And they're raising funds for a new piggy paradise! 🐖

Thank you to all who have supported The Pig Project! We've hit an exciting milestone at 40%, and with your continued help, we can reach our goal. Please donate and share widely to help us make it all the way! https://fnd.us/pigproject?ref=sh_dDQ4qd

Have you found glimmers with your dog lately? YAYDog helped me see so many of them in my sweet Buddha boy 🐶🌟

Have you found glimmers with your dog lately? YAYDog helped me see so many of them in my sweet Buddha boy 🐶🌟

Think about this in connection with your dog. ESPECIALLY if you have a "difficult" or challenging dog. I am not even a huge fan of those terms, but you know what I mean. Be in real time with your dog. Don't multi-task all the time you are with your dog. These beautiful creatures are proven to help us with our health and lowering stress. Did your dog react 20 seconds more slowly than before? Or did your dog bark at someone but just a tiny bit shorter and more quietly? Do you just melt when your dog comes to you with tail wagging? Take all the glimmers!! And know I am thinking of you and wishing the best for you and your dog. (Hat tip Stuart Kelley and Rumi Quotes.)
