Yoda is home ❤️

This IG photo is what brought Yoda home. ❤️

The person that had him took this photo & posted it the day he went missing, February 4th.

He titled it “Meet my new dog.”

We were alerted to the post this past weekend & after some digging; were able to track this person down. This person resides in Wi******er - 50 miles away; however his parents live one street over from Terrence. So there’s that! 😏

Yesterday; Terrence, Phuong & Lisa hopped in the car & drove to Wi******er. Upon arriving at the house; Yoda was tied up out back using the bathroom. By the time they had turned around he had been let back inside.

So, the only option left was to knock on the door. & so that they did.

He answered & was confronted about having Yoda. As soon as Terrence said “I know you have my dog” Yodas head popped up through the glass storm door. 😭🤧🤗

He opened the door & let Yoda out without any issues and said he has found him on Rt 7 in Leesburg WITHOUT a collar. Also stated he had him scanned for a microchip & was unaware anyone was looking for him. —— We know that was a lie; as he posted him on his IG with his red collar (which had ID tags on it) the day he was taken. Not to mention he has followed Aces page since 2019 & has shared many of our lost pets posts. 😏

The last 54 days have been hard. So so hard. So many emotions. At times I didn’t know how to answer the questions Terrence asked me so I always responded with “one foot in front of the other & keep the faith.” & that he did.

BIGGEST THANK YOU to our village as always. ❤️ YOUR SUPPORT is what gave us so much HOPE in what began to feel like a hopeless situation. 🙏🏼

🚨🚨🚨STILL MISSING!! 🚨🚨🚨 Please share! 🙏

We had a possible sighting last night (9/20) around 8:45 pm. A pedestrian thought they saw a small black dog in Trailside Park near Trailside Middle School heading towards the W&OD Trail. The witness saw the dog running across the parking lot towards the trail and then saw him twice on the trail itself. Please keep an eye out. The trackers and scent dogs have already been out, and we need more sightings.

Update 9/14, 9:40am: Goose is now stable thankfully, and will have his oxygen removed today. We are hoping that he will not need his spleen removed, as he is looking much more "pink" and alert today. We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to his emergency clinic bills, and any amount received beyond his surgical and hospitalization expenses will go to support the emergency care of other critically injured animals who arrive in our care. Hopefully he will feel well enough to come out for a picture in the next couple of days!

Update 9/13, 9:45am: We are calling this little guy Goose as we continue to look for his family. His injuries were significant, as he suffered from a ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, and air from his lungs leaking into his chest. However, he is now stable and under our veterinary team's supervision while it is determined if he will need surgery. We are not taking adoption applications on him at this time. In the event that he makes a recovery, and we have not found his family, he will go through the normal adoption process here at the shelter.

URGENT: Do you know this poodle mix type dog? He was hit by a car near Lime Kiln Rd and Goose Creek Lane in Leesburg and is in critical condition receiving emergency veterinary care. If this is your dog and you are seeing this prior to 6pm, please call us at 703-777-0406. If after 6pm, please call 703-777-1021 and ask for the Humane Law Enforcement Officer on duty. He is a male, and does not have a collar or microchip.

Homer is still missing. It has been almost 2 weeks and we are certain he is still in the Haymarket/Gainesville area. We respectfully ask that you please share this post.
