It all started at Christmas time, when Mic asked Santa for a pair of Bearded Dragons. Coincidentally, our monster 55" television had it's final day a month earlier. I made several attempts to have it recycled but nobody was interested in taking the beast away. I decided to make a learning experience out of this and told the kids to disassemble the TV for a project. From there, I could recycle the
components and speakers and take the rest to the landfill. A few hours later, the TV we enjoyed for ten years was nothing but a pile of dusty components and a frame. It took weeks to assemble being our first with dozens of revisions along the way. Our objective was to make an enclosure that was as natural and beautiful as possible that would also mimic the animals native habitat, while easy to clean and maintain. After working with more than a dozen TV/cages, we finally have it down! We know every nook and cranny that needs to be addressed, especially when working with escape artist snakes! The challenge, and beauty, lies in the heating aspect of the enclosure. Finding the proper heating elements to maintain the specific needs of the animal, while looking as natural as possible are the vital aspects of the enclosure.
