💥Two Hour Private In Home Session💥 Everyone meet Bless, reactive to other dogs and constantly pulling on a harness. When we met, quickly realized it was fear based reactivity due to a lack of confidence and non aggressive behavior. We began by educating the owner on why these issues were happening and how to communicate to Bless more efficiently. Without intention, Bless was being encouraged to behave in this manner by wearing the harness. We transitioned him to a and taught the owner leash pressure techniques. Walking became enjoyable immediately after. He is extremely loved and has an owner who wants him to succeed🐾

She was hyperactive, destructive, and struggled with human and dog reactivity. Meena’s amazing family now has the knowledge and tools to continue her training. Welcome to the pack Beans🐾 Two year old, male, rescue mix that struggles with human and dog reactivity. Dog’s can react to situations in different ways, there are several types of reactivity. Barrier frustration of living on a ground level unit near a heavy foot traffic area has reinforced an unwanted behavior day after day. Beans has taught himself that barking, makes problems disappear. 💥The Man Behind The Scenes💥 Wanted to introduce myself and put a name to the face. My name is Anthony, I am the Owner and Head Trainer of Shadow Paws located in Long Island, NY.
Joined the Army at 17, served eight and half years with numerous deployments to the Middle East. Majority of that time in the Special Operations Community. During that period, I became a nationally qualified amateur body builder, taking first place! Moved to North Carolina as a teenager and left a grown man.
Following my term of service, ran the day to day operations of a small construction company owned by my brother and myself in Montana. As we all know, life happens and we identify a change is needed.
Relocated across the country to Florida to become a professional protection dog trainer. Began my apprenticeship at one of the most well known family protection dog companies in the country, where I learned from a Special Operations K9 handler, my mentor Erick Innis.
Living in New York, I have met amazing dog owners who have trusted me to educate/ teach and be apart of their journey. Truly find pleasure creating stronger relationships with you and your four legged family members! Thank you for trusting Shadow Paws. Look forward to meeting many more of you🐾

💥Rugar learning to turn E-Collar stimulus off💥 The reason why E-collars have such a negative reputation is because people throw it on a dog, turn the stim up, and start blasting them. The problem with that is, the dog has no idea why the stimulus is being activated or how to turn it off. I show the dog how to work through a low stim. By understanding on leash obedience, I add the E-collar pressure and they turn it off by completing the task. The dog will learn, the faster they do the task, the faster they turn off the pressure. After numerous repetitions of clear communication, we can then use it as a correction tool. In a chaotic enviorment if your dog were to not obey, you can turn the heat up and they will know exactly how to turn it off. (Pay attention to the red light on the receiver and remote, once he does the task, it turns off🐾 #DogTrainer #CreatingALanguageDogsUnderstand

Clients rightfully ask “How many sessions will my dog need?” or “How long for him/her to learn?” My answer is always the same. Are you willing to put in the work, the reps, the time? Are you going to ask questions and seek guidance when you are unsure of a task? All dogs learn at different rates depending on breed, age, drive, etc.. Back from Boston and it sure was a pleasure. Appa is demonstrating some off leash obedience while walking downtown. Reactive dogs, loud vehicles, people on bicycles and it doesn’t matter. The relationship you build with your life long companion is a never ending relationship. Your dog will continue to get better or worse as they get older, it is on you to stay on top of their training🐾 #DogTrainer

E- Collar needs to be clear. The dog needs to know why stimulus is being activated and how to turn it off. Notice how I’m not even saying “Dutch Here.” He is learning how to turn off that annoying thing on his neck, it’s not hurting him. We are teaching Dutch to problem solve🐾 #DogTrainer
