We are a family friendly business with a heart for the youth and young at heart. Instruction is given in Dressage, Jumping, Driving and Ground work. Specialized Training is also offered for the young, untrained, or problem horse.

We currently have openings for two internships. This is open to high school / college age individuals or adults wanting to gain more hands on experience with horses. My Aunt - Sharon Poulin - We lost a woman who could hold her own among the riding greats, speak her mind with a bit of humor and give herself to family and each student and horse fully. If you received a compliment from her in a lesson, It was something to be valued as they weren't handed out lightly. Even in the end she enjoyed working her favorite horse with dog in tow. I will miss her greatly!

Today we lost another great one...
She was opinionated, sassy, and definitely kept everyone in check but she was also kind, strong and one of the best horses we had on our farm. Good bye Miss Emma you will be forever remembered.
Staff Sargent Reckless, a Marine warhorse during the Korean War. She carried both ammunition to the front lines and returned with wounded Marines.
Respected, loved, served. Two-time Purple Heart recipient along with numerous other medals of commendation, she lived from 1948-1968. Reckless is buried at Camp Pendleton. During the Korean war, she was allowed to roam freely around the camp and wandered into Marine’s tents and helped them eat scrambled eggs, beer, and Poker chips before her death in 1968.
On this Memorial Day, we remember all who have fought, those who have died, the people who assisted them, and this special mare, Reckless. ❤️
Congratulations to all the competitors at the Topsham Fair Skijoring Event. There were many great teams and some super fast ponies!! My daughter Hannah Novaria and brother Bill Poulin took 2nd place out of the 24 teams competing. Their horse Kazuki(owned by Makeala Field) was brand new to the event, and track conditions were a bit rough. Great Job!!!

A Champion was lost today....to the shock of us all, Kennebec Charis chose to be a gentleman to the end and made the decision for me. His name means "God's Gift" and he was that to a world of people. 25 years of teaching young and old...giving courage to those who needed it..a mane to cry in...and a partner for many crazy adventures. Charis WAS the best stallion ever!! There are no words to express the grief I feel for losing my best friend and partner but I will remember all that he gave to me and others. I would love to hear your best Charis story...
Today Safe Haven Farm said goodbye to a fantastic horse...Steinway!
He was bred by my cousin Larry Poulin by his Dutch stallion Highland and out of a QH mare. He was named Steinway after the piano, because he was born completely black. He came to live at Safe Haven when he 4 as Hana Poulin was headed off the Unity College. He was a VERY cheeky young man and many riders learned the hard lesson of hitting the dirt. After 4 years with us and some schooling, he went on to live with Kayla McKay in Florida with uncle Mike Poulin, where he learned the true art of Dressage. At 14 he decided he didn't really like Dressage anymore and came home to "retire". He taught many how to school low level Dressage (he pretended he didnt know anything above First 1, but he knew up to 3rd) and many how to jump. He went on to help some kids with Catlin Donahue and their pony club and made many new friends and had wonderful adventures. When he was done he came back home and continued showing kids and adults the ins and out of riding. He absolutely loved to jump and preferred being naked! He loved my daughter and was her best friend but I'm sure he was to many, their best friend too! He will be remembered for many years in all our funny stories and happy memories of him!
