Yes, this

There is nothing natural about large numbers of unfamiliar dogs partaking in high-intensity activity in a dog park, and this shouldn’t be the benchmark for a social dog. If your dog is not their best in such an environment, you are not doing anything wrong. 👏👏 There is nothing wrong with your dog. 👏👏 Your dog is normal. 👏👏

Can’t stress this enough!

Nails should be trimmed 1-2x/month minimum, or weekly if your dog’s nails resemble the left photo. Changing posture to relieve nail pressure will inevitably lead to painful, arthritic feet and wrists.

All my dogs are crate trained, no matter how good they are left unsupervised. I have the peace of mind knowing they will be comfortable in their portable “homes” during travel, emergencies, or whatever may come.

Rory was looking scraggly 8wks post whelping, so she got a mommy makeover!

Don't mind the unfinished garage which is STILL under construction for a leak in the wall. Don't get me started on the contractors... 🤬

Potty training 101!

2 days ago I introduced my litter of 7 puppies to a turf potty area. This is the earliest I have ever done so at 3.5 weeks old. Today I observed a baby crawl out of bed to use it, then hobble back into bed to go back to sleep. I'm so proud!

I take advantage of their desire to move away from their resting spot to eliminate so start with the potty right next to their bed. Over time the grass will end up on the other end of the pen. This is how I begin to potty train every litter.

Once they're 5-6 weeks old they'll start going outside and the texture of grass won't be new so they'll know what to do! Their bed will also move into a crate/s so they become comfortable with it.

Around 8 weeks or when I begin to observe no more pottying at night, I'll start closing the crate doors. By 10 weeks each puppy will be sleeping through the night in its own crate and going potty outside, rain or shine!

I don't remove the indoor potty option for my own pups I keep until they're closer to 14-16 weeks old or when they start to hold their bladder and bowels to show a preference of going outside. This method has worked very very well, and this is how I potty train. End result is a pup that loves their crate and reliably goes potty outside.
