Our first official pairing of the 2024 breeding season happened yesterday! (Delayed a bit because of an unexpected hospital trip.) Excited and hopeful about getting some hypo tessera babies, and possible sunkissed if mom proves out her hets!

All my life, I've loved naming things, so when it came time to plan out my group of current and future breeder corn snakes, I had a lot of fun coming up with a theme.

First of all, around the same time I was deciding to take the leap and start breeding, I was also watching a lot of women's NCAA basketball, specifically the Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark.

So my first collection (not all of whom are ready to breed yet) all have basketball and Iowa Hawkeye-themed names. I'm happy to introduce my starting line-up soon!
