Both Kane and Fern earned their CDCA herding instinct titles on Wednesday, and Fern was additionally awarded best experienced. We could not show at the specialty, but Ferns sister Deuce was Best in Puppy Sweeps and RWB. So good to see her and Thanks so much to her owner for making the effort to get there. Today Fern got a couple more FastCAT runs under her belt. She really likes chasing the bunny bag!

So excited- Fern got mail!

Last week in CT in the bitter cold (the silly hat was necessary) adult Crush and puppy Fern had their first ever herding lesson. Crush was all in from the start and was held back the entire time. Fern was more about sniffing and sampling sheep, bunny and goat nuggets until the instructor held one of the ewes and let her sniff. After that, as you can see, she turned on. Can’t wait to try again in slightly better weather.

January update: Robin has found a loving family and now resides in Florida.

Seven month male puppy Robin(Hood) is now available to a pet home. Currently located in CT, willing to travel a reasonable distance to help get him to his new forever home. Robin is up to date on vaccinations, house trained, crate trained and used to other dogs, farm animals and good with children. He spent some camp time with friends while I was on vacation and was around cats.

I have held on far too long in hopes that his derpy left ear will come up making him show quality. It is time to let him have his own family who will love his sweet nature, whimsical look and calm demeanor.

Thanks to all for a great National Specialty Week. A beautiful entry, lots of joy, some tears, points spread around, old friends and some new. Time with Amanda & Chris at the sisterhood tent- who could ask for more? I got it anyway….Kane is now CH Relic’s I am Kanaan (pending AKC approval) with two majors. Pleased to handle River to BOW at the National. Special Thanks to Lindsey for holding down the fort to make this happen! Safe travels home all.

Crush is a true Covid puppy and while I did my best to get him out and socialized we did not continue his last class as the size of the room and number of dogs made it a little too close for his comfort and therefore mine as well. Thanks so much to my long time friend and dog trainer Marilyn Marks who allowed us use her classroom to start working through some issues. The room was large, the class small with plenty of escape routes if needed making it the ultimate situation. By the last night of class he was relaxed and even stood next to his classmates for a graduation photo. Our work is far from over. We will be attending the next session with a new set of dogs. But for now I’m very pleased with my sweet boy.
