And that’s a wrap! Today I finished my last lesson before my maternity leave. As a reminder, I’m available via text and email this summer for all of my clients (I just might be slow to respond). Lessons and group sessions will start back up in September with primarily weekend and evening availability.
I want to thank all of my clients - it’s an honor to help you and your dogs reach your training goals. I will miss seeing all of you in person this summer - send your dogs my love! And please share updates on how you and your dogs are doing - I love seeing y’all enjoying life together!

2 dog trainers, 2 dogs, and 2 baby bumps! Vatsi and Rooster both earned their CGC, CGCU, and CGCA titles - very proud of these boys for all their hard work! PS: we plan to recreate the second photo after we have our babies this summer 💕

Milo got a haircut AND finished his program! He has come so far from the flight risk, guarding, and rude dog he was a few weeks ago. Gone are the guarding issues, he is enjoying offleash freedom with reliable recall, and he is such a joy to take places! He and his owner have adventures and trips planned and Milo can fully take part now! He is wicked smart and his program flew by, he is so fun to work with. Go be good, Milo!

New member of the pack coming this May! With this big change, there will be some changes to training services and offerings - I am only taking on a few more clients this spring, likely closing my books in the next few weeks. I am going to start hosting group training on weekends in the early spring for current and past clients - this will be a great opportunity to practice with your dog around people and dogs and to get feedback. Please send me a message if you are interested in joining! Maine Trail Dogs will be closed for all services this summer. Group training will then resume in the fall along with private lessons. We are thrilled to embark on this new journey - the dogs are very excited about welcoming their new little brother!

Meet Milo, the cocker spaniel x Cavalier King Charles spaniel cross - he is a spicy little man who recently has started guarding things, food, people, and spaces from the other dogs in the house. He is a little spitfire - I attached some videos from his evaluation showing some examples of this behavior. We are starting his homeschool program this week to get a handle on this issue. He’s also been known to take off on his owner if he gets loose and play ‘chase me chase me’ and he’s a big time leash puller. I’m stoked to get started with this little spitfire!

Thank you to everyone who supported and worked with us this past year! I got to work with some really amazing people and their dogs - from the lessons with tiny 8 week old puppies to working intense behavior modification cases - bite cases, extreme fear, car chasing, and dog aggression, to name a few. My only regret is not taking more photos and videos of all the amazing dogs I worked with this year. Thank you again for trusting me with your dogs!

Rooster is enjoying our holiday break - lots of snowy walks and napping by the fire. He works so hard for me, helping immensely in evaluations and lessons. Rooster knows intuitively what I need from him at work, whether it’s being neutral with a dog learning how to be around dogs, showing a fearful dog that something isn’t scary, or teaching a dog how to play appropriately. Outside of work, he fits with our family perfectly - a wonderful companion and playmate for Coop and Willow, the sweetest, cuddliest boy for us, and the most fun dog to train and play with. He never fails to make us smile and laugh daily (more like hourly tbh). He was made for this life with us - knew exactly what she was doing placing him with us 🧡
