Sometimes, when our hearts are heaviest, life gives us exactly what we need to keep going. After losing Samson, my heart was shattered. But then, something wonderful happened: Storm found his forever home. 🌟

Storm’s journey was anything but easy. Nearly euthanized at animal control, he fought his way back from the brink—surviving parvo, being incredibly sick, and enduring a long recovery that included additional hospitalization even after testing negative. But this little fighter had something special in him: the will to live and love. ❤️

Today, we are thrilled to share that Storm has joined an amazing family, complete with another RezQ Dogs alumnus, Dutch! 🐾 Storm’s new parents have opened their hearts and home to this very special boy, giving him the life he truly deserves.

To our incredible donors and supporters—you made this miracle possible. Every dollar, share, and word of encouragement brought Storm to this moment. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. 💕

In April of last year, Samson came into our care at RezQ Dogs in one of the most heartbreaking conditions we've seen. He was covered in hundreds of porcupine quills, riddled with ticks, underweight, and generally not feeling well. Despite it all, Samson was sweet, trusting, and full of love.
Over the months that followed, Samson faced challenge after challenge. He’d have days where something just felt off, and despite multiple vet visits, tests, and treatments, we couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong. Then one day, Samson suffered a grand mal seizure that left him blind. It was devastating, but it finally led to a diagnosis: a brain tumor.
We promised Samson a safe and loving place here at RezQ Dogs for as long as he was feeling well. His quality of life became our guiding light. And for a while, Samson thrived. Even blind, he adapted beautifully, greeting every day with his sweet, gentle spirit and enjoying the safety and love we could give him.
But this past Saturday, Samson likely experienced another seizure while I was out doing chores. This time, he didn’t recover. He began losing his balance, became cranky with his doggy friends, and we could see the light that made Samson Samson starting to fade. I hoped against hope that he’d improve, but after a thorough exam with his veterinarian—who has cared for him from the beginning—it was clear that there was nothing more we could do to help him.
With his quality of life foremost in our minds, we made the heartbreaking decision to release Samson from his diseased body.
I am absolutely heartbroken. And if I’m honest, I’m angry too. Samson deserved so much more than this life dealt him. He was the best boy—kind, gentle, and loving—and it feels so unfair that his time here was cut short.
But I’m also thankful. Thankful that Samson found his way to RezQ Dogs. Thankful that he was surrounded by love, care, and safety thanks to the generosity of our supporters. And I’m especially thankful to Dr. Mike and all the staff at Bear Paw Vet for caring for Samson with such compassion and expertise. Because of you all, Samson didn’t face this journey alone. He knew he was cherished.
Run free, sweet Samson. You will always hold a piece of my heart. 🌈❤️

Hi, I’m Suki! Can We Talk About Forever?

Hey there, friends! It’s me, Suki, and I’ve got a story to tell—and maybe, just maybe, you’re the happy ending I’ve been waiting for.

When I arrived at RezQ Dogs on June 28, life was tough. Everyone thought I’d been hit by a car, but the X-rays told a different story. I’d actually been shot. Multiple times. 😔 One of those bullets made one of my front legs completely useless. I just dragged it around, and the humans thought I might lose it altogether. But they believed in me, gave me time to heal, and guess what? My nerves regenerated, and I got my leg back!

Oh, and about my back leg—it turns out I’d broken it at some point, and it healed all funny. So now I’ve got this adorable, goofy walk. I say it adds to my charm. 😊

But you know what? None of this would have been possible without the amazing care I’ve received at RezQ Dogs. These kind humans saw past all my injuries and believed in me when no one else did. They gave me the medical care, time, and love I needed to thrive, and I am so, so grateful. Thanks to them, I get to be the happy, playful dork I was always meant to be. 💖

These days, I love to run, wrestle, and play rough with other dogs. I’m great with horses, but cats? Nah, not my thing. I’ve been through a lot, but none of it slows me down. I’m just waiting for one thing: my forever family.

Hi friends! It’s me, Waffles! 🐾 I hope your Christmas was filled with family, delicious food, and lots of peace (and maybe a few crumbs for your furry friends 😏).

I spent my Christmas here, cozy and safe, but… I couldn’t help dreaming about having a family of my very own to celebrate with next year. I mean, I’m not sure how I’m still here! I’m sweet, snuggly, and I get along great with other dogs. Did I mention I’m crate trained, house trained, and 100% ready to snuggle up on your couch?

I’m a malamute mix, which means I’ll grow to be big - big in size and even bigger in heart. ❤️ I would love to ring in the new year with you, starting fresh as your forever friend.

What a weekend!
We’re overjoyed to share that Rogue and Pipsie found their forever families and went home this past weekend! ❤️ And it gets better—Storm has a pending adoption and will be leaving for his new home as soon as his parents return from holiday travel! 🏡✨

These happy endings are what we work so hard for, but we still have many wonderful dogs and puppies waiting for their chance to shine. Puppies like Freya and Ember, playful and sweet Waffles and Mopsie, and loving Suki are all dreaming of families to call their own. 🐾 Could one of them be your new best friend?

While we celebrate Rogue's, Storm's, and Pipsie’s adoptions, it’s hard not to think about how different their stories could have been. Without RezQ Dogs stepping up, these pups might not have made it as they were facing euthanasia at animal control and then parvo nearly took Rogue and Storm from us. Their recoveries and new beginnings are only possible because of the love and support from people like you.

We Need Your Help to Find Homes for Our Adoptable Dogs!

We’re asked every day to take in more dogs, and our hearts break knowing how many need us. But the truth is, we are beyond full. Until some of our current dogs find homes, we simply can’t take in more.

This isn’t fair to sweet pups like Waffles, Pipsie, Freya, Mopsie, Ember, and so many others. These amazing young dogs have grown up here, and while we work hard to ensure they’re safe, loved, and cared for, it’s not the same as having a real home. They deserve families of their own where they can flourish.

Each of these dogs is playful, loving, and ready to bring joy to your life. They’re spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and have been through so much already. All they need now is a family to love them as much as we do.

Hi, it’s me, Freya! I’m just a tiny, 4-month-old pup with big dreams… and one big question: Why hasn’t anyone adopted me yet?! 😢

I mean, look at me! I’m cute, smart, and cuddly. I love snuggling up on the couch and playing with my doggy friends. I’m practically a walking Hallmark Christmas movie—adorable, heartwarming, and ready to change your life. ✨

Sure, I’ve been through a lot in my short life, but guess what? I’m a parvo survivor and a total champ. I’ve got a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and so much love to give. Seriously, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect puppy. I’m basically a Christmas miracle wrapped in fur. 🎁

UPDATE: Pipsie was ADOPTED!

🐾 Meet Pipsie! The Cutest Snugglebug Around 🐾

Pipsie’s story is one of resilience, love, and second chances. This 4-5-month-old Pitbull puppy was scheduled to be euthanized when we stepped in to save her. When she arrived at RezQ Dogs, she was struggling with mange, but thanks to the care and support of our team—and YOU, our amazing supporters—she’s now healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home. ❤️

This funny, sweet girl LOVES people and is fantastic with other dogs. After a playful romp with her foster friends, Pipsie’s favorite thing is to burrow under blankets and throw pillows on the couch, snoozing the cold Montana nights away like the cozy cuddlebug she is. 🛋️💤

Pipsie is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and microchipped—she’s all set to bring warmth, joy, and puppy kisses to her very own family. She wouldn’t be here today without the life-saving efforts of RezQ Dogs and the generosity of our supporters.
