We are so grateful to Five Beans Pet Care for doing yet another fundraiser for RezQ Dogs! Check it out and help us provide hope for those with none!

Don’t forget… it’s Stubby’s birthday month, so he’s raising funds for RezQ Dogs. Stubby and his brother Reaper were both adopted from RezQ, so this month’s fundraiser holds a dear place in our hearts. 🐕🐾❤️
Last year, we were able to raise over $1000 for our friends at RezQ Dogs. This year, we’re going big again with a goal of $1500 by the end of August. You can help! 😉
We have apparel for sale, plus we’re donating $50 from each Destination Walk Card purchased this month. 🐕🐾
By ordering these items, you’re supporting two small Montana businesses and a kick-tail Montana rescue organization. What’s greater than supporting your neighbors and helping dogs???
As always, we appreciate your support. Please feel free to view options and place your order using the link, or send us a text/socials message/email.

04/08/2024

During one of our vaccination clinics this summer, a dear friend who always ensures their pets are well taken care of, mentioned that their daughter was caring for a litter of puppies born to a stray mom near her home. Concerned for their health, I asked if they could bring the puppies to the clinic so we could protect them from the deadly viruses we were vaccinating against.

A little while later, they returned with just three puppies. The rest, they said, had been tragically killed by adult dogs in the neighborhood. My heart broke thinking of the poor little ones who didn't make it, and I couldn't bear the thought of these three facing the same fate. My friends said their daughter wanted to keep the male puppy, but the two girls needed a safe place to land. So yes, I brought them home.

Ever since that day, these two little munchkins, Izzie and Mer, have been making me laugh every single day. They love racing around the living room, zooming in and out of the cat tunnel and hiding in it from each other to chew on whatever they are able to get away with :D They also accompany me when I feed horses and Mer even caught a ride on Bailey, my old heart horse.
They are now ready for adoption and eager to find their own forever homes.

We were told their mom is a corgi mix, but we have no idea about their dad. These girls are spunky, love other dogs, enjoy playing with cats, and respectful of horses. They will be medium-sized, as they are only 6 lbs at approximately 9-10 weeks old. After romping around, they usually fall asleep by my feet as I work on the computer.

Izzie and Mer are scheduled to be spayed this week, and we desperately need funds to cover the costs. The adoption fees don't cover everything we need to do to get puppies ready for their new homes. No donation is too small, as every little bit adds up.

Please open your hearts and help us give Izzie and Mer the loving homes they deserve.

🌟 Happy Tails Update: Carly (now Colbie)! 🌟

We are overjoyed to share the wonderful news that Carly, now lovingly called Colbie, was adopted last week by one of our former adopters! 🏡❤️

Colbie now has her very own little boy who adores her. They love running around the yard together, and he's already teaching her how to fetch! Seeing their bond grow has been truly heartwarming.

Colbie's journey with us started when she was relinquished during one of our vaccination clinics on the reservation we work on. She arrived malnourished and suffering from a severe case of mange. Thanks to our amazing supporters, we were able to treat her mange, provide her with nutritious food, protect her from deadly canine viruses through a series of vaccinations, and ensure she was spayed before her adoption.

Her new mom was amazed at how shiny her coat was when they first met, a testament to her remarkable transformation and the care she received.

We couldn't be happier for Colbie and her new family. Thank you all for supporting our work and making happy endings like this possible. ❤️

Ps. It seems as if Facebook algorithms continue to be acting up and many folks are not seeing our post. To help us out can you please:

Winston, a 6-month-old Border Collie mix, is now available for adoption, and his journey to us has been nothing short of a miracle.

Like most of the dogs who come to RezQ Dogs, Winston's only other option at animal control was a bullet. When he arrived, he was covered in hundreds of ticks and fleas and wasn't sure what to think of people. But after having time to decompress and hang out with humans who act as walking treat dispensers, Winston now thinks people are pretty cool.

Winston is a sweet boy who gets along great with other dogs. We're not sure about cats yet, but he's getting really good at ignoring horses! He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. Winston is already crate trained and doing great with house training.

This lovable pup is ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and share his boundless affection. If you’re interested in adopting Winston, please visit www.rezqdogs.org/adopt to fill out our adoption application.

🐾 Meet Gilly! 🐾

We are absolutely stunned that there has been no interest in this gorgeous, sweet, and goofy girl! Gilly, a beautiful husky mix, is still waiting for her forever home, and we know that special someone is out there for her.

At about 2 years old, Gilly is house-trained, crate-trained, and food-motivated, making her training a breeze. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on her vaccinations. Gilly is great with male dogs but prefers to be the only female dog in her household. Please note, no cats for this lovely lady.

Gilly arrived at RezQ Dogs last summer with her puppies, a starving and scared mom. While her puppies have all found their forever homes, Gilly is still waiting for hers. She’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and fun-loving friend. Whether it’s playtime in the yard or snuggling on the couch, Gilly is ready to fill your life with joy and laughter.

Please help us spread the word about Gilly. Share her story, tell your friends, and let’s find her the loving home she deserves!

If you’re interested in meeting Gilly or want to learn more about her, please visit www.rezqdogs.org/adopt to fill out our adoption application. Let’s make her wait worth it and give her the happy ending she’s been dreaming of. 🏡❤️

🌟 Adoption Announcement! 🌟

We're thrilled to share the heartwarming news that Nikki has found her forever home! 🐾❤️

Rescued from certain death at a local animal control, where her only other option was a bullet, Nikki's journey took a miraculous turn. Now, she's living the dream as a beloved and already spoiled family member!

Nikki's new mom came prepared with all kinds of goodies for her to enjoy on the trip back home. In fact, Nikki was so busy enjoying them that she didn't even get out of the truck for a formal adoption photo! 😄🚚

Thank you to everyone who supported Nikki's journey and helped make this happy ending possible. Here's to many happy and treat-filled days ahead for Nikki and her wonderful new family! 🏡🎉

Where does the time go???
It truly is absolute insane how quickly time goes. There just isn’t enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished! Between more dogs coming in (more on that tomorrow), a transport, storms and heat, to say I’ve been busy is simply an understatement. But I digress, the point of this post is to give you all a way overdue update about our miracle girl Suki!
It's been 2 weeks and 2 days since Suki was shot at least twice and barely survived. One of the bullets injured the nerves in her left front leg and as a result, that leg was paralyzed. The veterinarians advised to give her time and see what happens in the next two weeks. They also warned us that it may take up to 6 months for the nerves to regenerate. I had been so worried that she would need to have that leg amputated but in a true survivor fashion, Suki is slowly regaining feeling in that leg and is starting to put weight on it and actually use it!
In all honesty, I couldn’t believe my eyes and have been watching her like a hawk for the past few days to make sure it wasn’t just my wishful thinking! But I am now positive that Suki’s nerves are slowly regenerating! I have been trying to take short videos of her to show you all but she’s very camera shy and keeps running away anytime I try… I was able to sneak a few of these photos though. You can see on some of them that instead of that left paw just dangling, she’s actually putting it down on the ground in the correct position! And this evening she even used it to “dig” in her bed to make it more comfortable!
To add to this story of survival, we were also able to reunite Suki with one of her puppies that found herself at Animal Control with two options, RezQ Dogs or a bullet… We couldn’t say no to this stunning, sweet, and shy puppy. Tasha was so very happy to see her mom! Their reunion brought tears to my eyes as they definitely recognized each other. Now Suki is showing Tasha that humans can be trusted and this sweet puppy is slowly coming out her shell.
Stay tuned for more updates about these two amazing survivors.

Hey Everyone, It’s Milo, Finn, and Leo! 🐾
Hi there, humans! It’s us, Milo, Finn, and Leo, the trio of fun-loving puppies looking for our forever homes. We can't believe we haven’t received a single application yet! We thought maybe if you heard from us directly, you might fall in love and want to make one of us part of your family.

We are about 12 weeks old and full of energy and joy. Here’s a little bit about each of us:

Milo: I’m the adventurous one! I love playing with toys, splashing in water, and exploring new places. But don’t be fooled, I also love a good cuddle session. There’s nothing better than snuggling up with my person at the end of a fun-filled day.

Finn: I’m the playful and curious one! I enjoy romping around with other dogs and having a blast with all kinds of toys. When the day winds down, I’m ready to curl up in your lap and enjoy some cozy time together.

Leo: I’m the outgoing and friendly one! I love making new friends, whether they’re dogs or humans. Splashing in water is one of my favorite things, and I’m always up for a snuggle when the day is done.

We’ve been neutered, we’re up to date on our vaccinations, and we’re microchipped. All we need now is a loving family to call our own.

If you think you could be our perfect match, please visit www.rezqdogs.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application. We can’t wait to meet you!

Please share our post so we our families can find us!

Love,
Milo, Finn, and Leo 🐶❤️

Suki's Progress Update 🐾❤️
We wanted to give you an update on our brave girl, Suki. Despite the trauma she experienced just last Thursday, Suki is doing remarkably well. She has shown incredible resilience and strength.

Unfortunately, Suki still does not have any feeling in her front left leg and drags it as she walks. We are concerned she might develop sores on that foot, so we are closely monitoring her condition and providing the best care possible.

Suki has been getting along wonderfully with the other dogs she has met here so far. She also met my horses and her reaction to them reinforced our belief that she wasn't shot for chasing livestock. I will never understand why someone would shoot such a sweet girl... Her favorite thing, though, is cuddling with me whenever she has a chance. She is such a sweet and affectionate girl.

For now, we are giving her time to decompress and feel comfortable and safe in her new environment. Suki is about 2 years old (our best guess) and will be available for adoption in a few weeks.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and sent their well-wishes. Your support means the world to us and to Suki. If you would like to help with her and our other dogs ongoing care, please consider donating.

Suki Update!
Suki was released from the clinic and I will continue keeping a close eye on her. She still has no feeling in her left front leg but the veterinarian is recommending that we wait at least 2 weeks before putting her through any surgery to allow the bullet wounds to heal.
We will reassess after 2 weeks. It actually may take up to 6 months for the nerves to regenerate and we are hoping that will be the case. However, if she drags the leg resulting in development of sores or starts to self mutilate, we will have to amputate.
For now, she will get to hang out with us so we can get to know her.
Thank you all for your amazing generosity. It’s only because of you, RezQ Dogs can say yes when we are asked for help.
Thank you Jasmin for giving Suki a ride once again! And of course huge thanks to the amazing doctors and staff at Big Sky Animal Medical Center!

Urgent Help Needed for Suki 🐾💔
Today, we’re reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of Suki, a young husky girl who is currently in a veterinary hospital being treated for a gunshot wound.

Suki came to RezQ Dogs from local animal control. The animal control officer scooped her up from the street after being told she had been run over by a car. When I picked her up from her kennel, thin, her legs covered in dried up blood, she didn’t protest, whine, or attempt to bite despite the pain she must have been in. It was clear that she couldn’t use her left front leg, but my main concern was potential internal injuries.

With none of our local veterinarians available, I made the decision to rush her to Great Falls. A good friend found an amazing lady to meet me halfway (thank you, Nora and Jasmine!) and Suki was seen by a veterinarian last night.

After a thorough exam and a series of x-rays, the veterinarian concluded that Suki wasn’t hit by a car. The truth is far more disturbing. This sweet and quiet girl had been shot multiple times with both lead bullets and pellets. It’s almost as if she was used for target practice.

One of the bullets went through the base of her neck, across her body, and is now lodged right in front of her shoulder blade, causing nerve paralysis in her front left leg. Another projectile pierced her lung, which was bleeding internally last night.

Suki is lucky to be alive. She’s under close observation, being treated for infection and pain. She may still require surgery to remove a lobe of her lung. We’re not sure if she will ever regain function of her leg, and it may require amputation. We hope to know more in the next few days.

We will never understand what would drive a person to commit such a cruel act as to shoot a dog. Especially a dog as sweet as Suki. Every person who has interacted with her since yesterday has commented on her sweet and gentle personality. Despite the pain, she didn't even need to be sedated for exam or x-rays.

Suki was scheduled to be euthanized yesterday. If we didn't say yes to her, her life would have ended yesterday. Please help us save her so that she can become a cherished part of someone's family.

We are urgently asking for donations to cover the cost of her treatment.

Gilly, our beautiful 2-year-old husky mix, has been with us for quite some time, and we truly believe it’s her turn to find a loving forever home. While RezQ Dogs never puts a time limit on how long our dogs can stay with us, we would love nothing more than for Gilly to finally have a family of her own. She deserves it!
If you are you ready for non-stop laughter, furry cuddles, and a lifetime supply of love, you have to meet Gilly, our spirited 2-year-old husky mix with a heart as big as her personality!

Gilly is a certified goofball who believes life is a never-ending playdate. Her favorite pastime? Making you crack a smile! This fluffy comedian is not just a dog; she's a stand-up pup ready to turn your world upside down (in the best way possible, of course).

She's got a talent for stealing hearts and toys, but don't worry—she'll happily share both if you promise to play along. Gilly is a social butterfly, showering affection on anyone who crosses her path. Prepare for the sweetest kisses and tail wags that can brighten the gloomiest day.

Gilly is a perfect fit for a family with male dogs, as she's got that easygoing charm with her fellow fur pals. However, she's got a diva side and prefers to be the queen of the castle, so a home without female dogs (or cats) would be her dream kingdom.

This little lady is a master of house manners and crate charisma. House-trained? Check. Crate-trained? Check. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped? Triple check! Gilly is the whole package, ready to blend seamlessly into your loving home.

Are you ready to embark on a lifetime of laughter, love, and maybe a few hilarious hijinks? If you think you can keep up with Gilly's antics, email us at [email protected] or just fill out our adoption application at www.rezqdogs.org/adopt and let's make this funny, furry love story official! 🐾❤️

Meet Nikki and Carly! 🐾❤️
These two beautiful girls, Nikki and Carly, have overcome unimaginable odds and are now looking for their forever families. Both puppies found themselves at local animal control, where their only other option was a bullet. Knowing what would happen if we said no, RezQ Dogs took them in. Now, thanks to your continued support, Nikki and Carly have a second chance at life.
Nikki is approximately 12 weeks old and likely to grow into a big girl. She's a bold and energetic German Shepherd mix who loves playing with other dogs and cuddling with her foster mom. Her most endearing feature is her ears, which have a mind of their own and are constantly changing appearance.
Carly is also about 12 weeks old, with the classic markings of a German Shepherd, though she’s quite petite. Carly is a mellow and sweet puppy, a bit shy when first meeting new people but quickly becomes your best friend. She enjoys cuddling with her foster mom and playing with her foster siblings. Carly is already crate trained, adding to her charm.
How You Can Help
Your continued financial support is vital to the future of RezQ Dogs. The cost of getting Nikki and Carly ready for adoption has exceeded their adoption fees.
• Spay surgeries: $215 each
• Vaccinations: $13.48 each
• Dewormer: $9.80 each
• Nexgard: $35.88 each (to treat mange in Carly and a horrible flea and tick infestation in Nikki)
• Microchips: $11.37 each
This brings the total cost of their vet care to $284.53 each, while their adoption fee is only $200 and this is a financial reality for most of adoptions and does not include the cost of dog food and everything else that goes into running a rescue.
We strive to keep our costs low but inflation and circumstances have affected us greatly. We take advantage of programs that allow us to purchase vaccinations and supplies at a deep discount but these prices have been increasing as well. We have been extremely fortunate to have a fantastic veterinarian who provided excellent yet discounted services, unfortunately, this is currently not possible. The nationwide shortage of veterinarians coupled with rising costs has made finding affordable veterinary care challenging.
So, how can you help? Without your financial support, we can’t continue provide hope for those with none and save lives. Please consider donating to help cover Nikki and Carly’s veterinary care and give them the loving homes they deserve.

Meet Smudge! 🐾❤️
Smudge, our sweet and quiet girl, is still wondering how come no one has adopted her yet. At about 16 weeks old, she’s patiently waiting for her forever family. While her sister Jayne found her home a few weeks ago, Smudge is still hopeful for her chance at a loving family.

When Smudge arrived in RezQ Dogs' care, she was suffering from mange. Thanks to the excellent care she received, she’s now a picture of health with a glowing coat that showcases her beauty.

Smudge loves playing with her foster siblings of all shapes and sizes and is great with cats too. While she might be a bit shy with new people at first, she quickly warms up and shows her loving nature. She’s the perfect size now and will grow into a medium-sized dog, making her an ideal companion for any family.

Will you please open your heart and home to Smudge? She’s a very deserving puppy who just needs a chance to prove it.

Smudge is spayed, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. To adopt her, visit www.rezqdogs.org/adopt to fill out our adoption application.
