AquaCorals Reef Aquariums Welcome to AquaCorals! Specializing in Soft Coral Aquaculture & everything REEF! AquaCorals is also the largest Reef Aquarium facility in New England!

Both brick & mortar & on-line AquaCorals specializes in these areas:
1. Home to over 100 soft coral species literally tank/aquarium raised. Baby corals are made from the parent corals grown here on location!
2. I teach people how to setup & maintain successful reef aquariums based on a system "recipe" I developed. My way is not the only way to setup a successful reef aquarium but it's only one of

a handful I've ever seen produce the beauty & longevity found here. My motto is "If you do what I do, using the products I use, you will have what I have - gorgeous reef aquariums where everything thrives, not dies. My system is easier to maintain than freshwater! Depending on the size tank & system setup, maintenance can take as little as 5 minutes one day a week!
3. Because I use the same equipment & supplies I can personally help you with yours.
4. There is no BS here. Just straight honest guidance. I won't sell a fish or any animal to a tank I know won't support it. I care about my customers. I don't know of anyone that wants to throw their money out the window!
5. Many of my corals are over 17 years old & rarely, if ever are seen wild collected today. My customers receive truly unique & beautiful animals!
6. I spare no expense. All my systems are true DSB/LR/overflow systems. They receive the best care & offer the best in water quality & conditions. This means every animal gets to live in the best possible conditions until I find them new homes. This means my customer receive the healthiest animals money can buy!
7. I want YOU to experience the same success I enjoy. The proof is in the beautiful reef systems housed here. If you're local, stop on by & visit. Relax on couches or chairs in front of some of the most stunning aquariums! They will help you trust the advice I provide.
8. I love visitors! Come see some of the beauty of our vast oceans! Over 60 tanks hold some of the most gorgeous animals on earth!
9. For experienced hobbyists this facility holds some of the most rare & colorful animals. Many are posted on the website as WYSIWYG!
10. Everything in my facility is truly "Reef Safe" meaning they are all safe to be housed together without harm & should be peaceful in a community. Anything I can't grow myself I fly in straight from the divers to the best/most ethical wholesalers. Reef fish, LPS & SPS corals & inverts. I also cherry pick & bring you the most stunning specimens available! I love my animals, I love my customers & I love helping people. There's no better feeling than to help make a person's dream come true or to show people the beauty that lives in the world's oceans. THIS is what AquaCorals is all about.

Keeping Multiple Pygmy Angels

I always recommend hobbyists that have at least a 4 ft tank to keep one Pygmy Angel & that would be the Lemonpeel. Not only is it a gorgeous fish with blue eyeshadow, it's proven itself to be a complete remedy for the stinging pest Aiptasia. All born females it's best to get a small one as females tend to be the most aggressive eaters of Aiptasia.

But don't we all love the stunning Flame Angel too? Can we have them both? Answer ... Yes you can IF introduced at the same time.

I personally have always wanted them AND the beautiful little Eibli Pygmy Angel soooo ... I brought all 3 in & successfully introduced them into my 265g. Over the years I've found you can do 2 Pygmy's in as small a tank as a 75g, but do not recommend anything smaller as they need lots of rocks to hunt through & plenty of space to swim as they are always on the move, in & out of the rocks.

Again, key to success with keeping multiple Pygmy Angels - introduce them all together.

Pictures here are my 265g Angels. As hard as I tried ... Nope, could not get them all in one photo! 😁

Part 2: Keeping Multiple Tangs

It's always best to add multiple new fish additions vs just one who ends up being targeted as the "new kid" in the tank by the established fish. When we introduce multiples, especially of the same species like Tangs, the chances of one being targeted decreases & the probability of success increases ... greatly.
In a perfect scenario, being able to introduce them all at once would be best as none are dominant, no matter the personality & they generally gently establish the pecking order. But ... adding more than 2 at a time (unless a very large & established system) we run the great risk of overloading the system's biological capacity to support the new additions so ... 2 is a safe number for all scenarios.
Pictured here is my 265g reef. It now has 6 Tangs. 2 missing from this pic are a 2.5" Hippo & Flamefin (Tomini). I recently added the Desjardini & Haw. Yellow to my Blonde Naso & Chocolate Tangs. Given that the D Sailfin & Yellow were larger, I knew the established Tangs would readily accept these newcomers due to their size. I am happy to report that after a little more than a week of being together, they are all swimming happily together. This pic shows them watching the Blonde Naso complaining to the Turbo snails on the Nori feeder. 😁

Yes! You CAN have more than one Tang get along peaceably in a tank.
Success Tips:
1. Know their personality & put shy ones in first.
2. Adding 2 at a time is best.
3. Size appropriate for the tank - 55g if tiny, 75g for Sm/Md
4. Be prepared to upgrade your tank size if only a 4ft as they will grow out of a 4ft tank in just a couple years.
5. Feed appropriately! Tangs are ocean cows & need a ton of vegetable matter & the very best for them is Nori seaweed.

Just a couple of fun pics I took tonight watching my 265g in it's sunset phase. The fish were all finding their "bedrooms" for the night & I happened to catch these 2 clowns wanting to take refuge in the same Toadstool coral. Pic 1 shows my Citron Goby sitting on top with my Royal Gramma Basslet inside the folds of the now closed cap of my White Polyp Toadstool. Mr Basslet was NOT wanting to share his bedroom. It was a peaceful parting though.
Almost 30 years in this hobby & I still love the antics of our reef critters. 🥰
