Glover Update!
Glover has been enjoying some freedom with his brace to be able to get out and walk when the weather isn’t too hot or raining. He has a few sores on his leg where the brace meets his skin so he had to get some extra padding added to help. He was a good supervisor through the process. ❤️

Gordo Update!
Gordo is currently settling into his foster home. He is a very sweet dog and was very well behaved during his first vet visit. He was so comfortable at the vet he decided to take a little nap. He loves attention from people so this has caused some jealousy issues when around his foster brother. He does play well in the yard with his foster brother when no toys are around. He is good with cats so it may be best that he goes to a home with no other dogs but cats are fine. We are told he is good with kids and he loves water! His forever family will need to be committed to wrinkle care as he has quite a lot of them to keep clean but before he is ready to go he needs cherry eye surgery, possibly soft palate surgery, and be neutered! FYI Tampa

Shelters Hit With Another Blow

As if the heat and at-capacity issues animal shelters are currently dealing with weren't enough, two more Tampa Bay Area shelters have temporarily closed to the public for intake. Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and Humane Society of Tampa Bay are each dealing with an outbreak of canine influenza, a highly contagious virus that is airborne, and spreads through contact. Almost 300 dogs have already been transferred from the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and are being housed in another facility where they will be monitored and treated. The shelter is currently following a top-to-bottom cleaning and disinfecting protocol.

If you have found a stray dog in Hillsborough County, FL, here are some quick tips to follow. This will help the County maintain accountability of stray or lost dogs. For your own dogs' safety and well-being, make sure they are chipped, and that the chip information is up-to-date. The 4th of July is just around the corner. Check the perimeter of your yard to make sure there are no breaches in fencing. Typically, 1 in 5 lost pets go missing after being threatened by loud noises such as fireworks.

Update on William:
William went to the vet this week. He was diagnosed with a heart murmur and further testing/treatment will be needed. He also has hookworms and giardia so he will be starting meds soon. Despite all of this going on he still is a happy go lucky guy. Your donations to Florida Bulldog Rescue help us care for William so we appreciate your continued support! ❤️‍🩹

Bruce had his cherry eye surgery yesterday and is recovering at his foster home. A big thank you everyone that has donated to Florida Bulldog Rescue over the last few months. Your donations have helped us get Bruce fixed up and ready for his forever home. We could not do this without the continued support. ❤️‍🩹

Update on Lady!
The antibiotics and medicated baths have really helped Lady’s skin and she is looking good. She has a few more weeks on antibiotics and it will take some time for her fur to grow back but this sweet girl is ready to find her forever home. She is laid back and is good with dogs, cats, and kids! ❤️

Say Hello to Sanson…..again!
This cutie just turned 6, which is the new 3, when describing Sanson. He is a mix of s***k and chill. While some times he likes to play with toys he also enjoys daily naps. He took quite awhile to warm up to the other dogs in his foster home so we feel that he would do best in a forever home with no other dogs or cats. He would do well with older kids as he tends to take treats out of your hand roughly and gets excited to see his people. He has typical bulldog skin issues that are under control with special food and meds. He loves car rides, short walks, and napping on the couch!

Sanson has been with us for quite a while waiting for his forever home so please help share this handsome fella so we can find him his new family. Welcome Gordo!
Gordo is in need of some TLC. He has a skin infection and ear infections in both of his ears. He needs cherry eye surgery and to be neutered. He also has a couple of nails on his back feet that have grown into his paw pads that need to be looked at and clipped. His medical care will be costly but we look forward to getting him all fixed up and ready for his forever home.

Our Jacksonville volunteers were invited to attend St. Michaels Soldiers fundraiser last weekend and spread word about the Florida Bulldog Rescue . Some of the Jacksonville Jaguars players attended along with Jaxson de Ville the mascot. 🏈

GLOVER UPDATE ❤️‍🩹
Glover has a lot of pep in his step tonight with his new brace. Think he finally feels like he has 4 good legs even though it’s still not fully healed. He’s allowed to go on short 5 min walks to help strengthen his leg muscles and he can get a bath since he doesn’t have any wraps! 🙌🏻
If everything goes well, in 2 weeks the metal piece gets switched out for a flexible piece so he has more movement in his leg. His doctors will consult on his progress for next steps. He has made a lot of progress but there is still a lot more to go.

Katie is a retired breeder looking to spend her days relaxing. She is dog friendly but has no history with cats or kids. She will need to be spayed and will be headed to our vet soon for an evaluation. Stay tuned for more updates as this sweet girl settles into her foster home.
