As a veteran program ran on Crossroads Ranch, we aim to create an enviroment where comradery can be found and help our fellow veterans. We also aim to encourage horsemanship by working with wild Mustangs and helping both horse and veteran into gaining new skills.

Horsemanship isn't for the faint of heart. Its tough, yet rewarding. Some days are good and others didn't go to plan. Chores have to be done before we can ride and sometimes those can be difficult. However, if you have the grit to keep working till it becomes a bit easier or find a new way for it to all make sense, the end result will be fullfilling.

The soup stall has gotten new footing so Mo and Sgt Hillard can enjoy their time without going ankle deep.

Last night was a big night for Mo and Meghan. They took a little stroll around the ranch since it was muddy in the round pen.

Mo got turned out again and has been enjoying his mini walks.

Mo got to stretch his legs the first time in a couple months under the watchful eye of old Billboard past night. They had a little tussle but eventually figured out how to behave.

Meghan has spent a lot of time preparing him for this and ensuring he can walk calmly as well as being approached and caught in pasture.

Some days are just too muddy to any work so might as well hang out and spend time together. Sgt Hillard and Mo have created a great bond.

Meghan and Mo have come a long way in 2 months! She has done a great job teaching him how listen to body language and have built a strong bond. We are about to soon turn him out to pasture with the herd and have started working on his feet.

The nightly roll happens after being feed.

Sometimes we have to stop and enjoy the moment. These horses teach us how to relax in the moment and just take everything in. There really is something about the inside of a horse that can change you.

Two different nights after going through a sking journey, Mo and Sgt Hillard have come a long way. He's been leading well and taking to being more relaxed with the flag.

Somedays you just have to sit back and let it go until you get to a point to where you can make a change.

Mo is starting to learn how to accept pressure and learning the role of pressure and release. There bond has grown stronger since halter training has started and he has become more trusting and accepting of touches.

Meghan and her Mustang have come a far way! They are now moving onto haltering and lead rope.

Her mustang has been taking everything in stride between gunshots for mounted shooting practice with our ranch horses, haltering, and fireworks!

Meghan and her mustang have come a long way in 3 weeks. Already they have started working on the halter and he has been taking it as a champ.
