Goblin, Sandbar, and Dusky are the remaining pups of Glory's litter. We sent three of their siblings to the North and have heard they got rave reviews for being such good, sweet pups. Yet their siblings sit here with no interest.
There are so many unwanted animals in our state that great dogs sit in shelters because there is no place for them to go. Dogs roam the streets or die in kill shelters because rescue groups and shelters are full. Friends from other rescue say the same thing, overloaded and overwhelmed. We all feel hopeless and depressed, adoptions are way down and we are getting multiple requests a day to take animals. It is time to be responsible and time to take action.
We cannot adopt, or transport, enough animals to fix this. Stop shopping for designer, or fad dogs, or the perfect dog, get a dog that needs a home. Have your pets spayed and neutered. There are pregnant dogs and litters of puppies being tossed out in huge numbers. Only when as a society we acknowledge this as a critical issue will things change. Some shelters have already closed and more will be forced to do the same thing.
