SIGHTING - BIRD - URANGAN - FRASER COAST REGION - 24/07/24

There is a light blue Ringneck bird hanging out at Dayman Park. can clearly see it’s a pet. last time I saw it was around 10:45 am. It was being chased by the local birds so was unable to take any photos. It didn’t look like it had any rings so I can only assume it’s either a female or very young. I was standing at the footpath leading to the aquarium when I last saw it.

Lizzie was found after 4 weeks still wearing her cone but sadly with a badly broken back leg

"She was found approx 1.2km from home and on a fairly large property where the owner's were on holidays for 6 weeks and she had been fending for herself there with a cone on head and a broken leg. Fortunately there was a dam so she had access to water but god know what she managed to eat. The daughter of the owner went to the property before they were due back. Very lucky indeed! She would not have survived much longer. She was very skinny and not much left in her. It’s a miracle really! The vet told me in Brisbane that the cone actually saved her leg as she couldn’t get to it and get it infected. "

It goes to prove your pet's want to be found.

We wish Lizzie a speedy recovery

12 year old Benson (a lion clipped chocolate British long hair) escaped Jennylee Close/ Pugul St Urangan approx 12.30pm Sunday 14th. He is mainly an indoor cat but has access to the secure back yard. He is microchipped but last time at the vet (Nissen St 6 weeks ago) they could see it in an X-ray but it didn’t register on the scanner.
