Focus On Dog Training

Billie has been in for just under 1 week and is making good progress!🐶

Here Billie is working on being neutral and being calm around other dogs and people!😀

Billie is in for training over the next 2 weeks! 🐕

We will be focusing on teaching Billie how to be calm!👌

How do we do this?

Lots of structure, toilet, training, free time, toilet,.crate time etc!

Going back to basics,.no more free roaming in the house, on a leash!

Place training, stay on one object and doing nothing! 👌

Reinforcing calm behaviour! 🐶

Lots of duration work, extended down stays, back tie, place training!

Calm leash walking at heel!👌

Rinse and repeat!

Adding consequences for inappropriate behaviour!

Great to have one of our favourites Koda stay for a few days!🐶

Poor Koda broke his leg a few weeks ago, Good to see he is recovering well!👌

Winnie progressing nicely with her ecollar training!👌

Winnie's owner has done a great job giving Winnie solid obeidence foundations!👍

We have spent the first week conditioning the ecollar with lots of positive reinforcement! 🥩

Now we are overlaying the ecollar over known commands!

Here winnie blows off the recall command, a low level stim, like an old tens machine, as soon as she commits to coming towards me, ecollar turns off + positive reinforcement!👌

Ecollars are a great tool to have off leash control over your dog! 🐕🐕

Danny kicking goals in training!👌

Danny's owner has done a good job creating an independent dog with nice foundations! 🐶

Danny has stayed with us a few times and knows the basics pretty well!

The next stage of Danny's training is to start to generalise commands, training in different enviroment, under varying levels of distractions!🐶

Winnie going well with her Ecollar training!🐶

Many people think an ecollar is a tool to stop bad behaviour, but, it can do so much more!

Ecollars are.a great tool for providing clarity, increasing motivation and providing reliability!👍

You need your dog to have a good obeidence foundation and clear communication sytem,before using the ecollar, as this will only cause confusion!

We spend a long time conditioning the dog to the ecollar, we pair low level stim with lots of +R, so the dog has a great association with it! 🐶

Little Coco working on some socialisation today! 🐶👌

With puppies you want them to have many positive experiences in as many different enviroments as possible!🐶

The aim is to create a resilient dog, who can work through stress!👌

Especially when they are young, you want to stay away from enviroments that you can't control, like dog parks etc!

1 or 2 bad experiences in that critical period can stay with them for ever!
