The Paw It 4ward Foundation (501(c)3) was started with the goal of ensuring that no animal is euthanized due to lack of medical care. We are a passionate and dedicated all-volunteer staff on a mission to make an impact in our local community by stopping the overpopulation and euthanasia of bully breeds through education, rescue, and community initiatives
Today, we not only provide medical grants
to local animal rescues, we also:
Rescue and foster bully breeds from high-kill shelters
Support foster families with all resources needed for care
And provide our rescue bullies with training, socialization, open-spaces, and careful placement into life-long loving families
Our sweet little baby girl Callie is officially on the market! Callie is about 8 to 10 months old, sweet as pie and super well behaved for a puppy! She would be an amazing second dog or a first pup for a loving home!
Callie is house and crate trained and super smart. Her foster mom is working on basis training and reports this little 💎 is very special ❤️

A couple of weeks ago we were asked to help with a young little munchkin that was found on Kelly Drive by some amazing good samaritans. After meeting her, we asked the best foster mom in town if she would foster her….Callie the little tiny girl all the way to the right of the screen is becoming an amazing young lady in a very short time. We do not think she will be up for adoption, as one of our wonderful adopters saw a picture of her and they have already done meets with their pup. We are taking it slow and making sure the girls are going to be bffs and going from there 🙂 In the meantime, the crew is enjoying having a little sister to play with ❤️🙌🏼 Its hard to tell Callie apart from our very own Daphne 😍 and most likely why we fell in love with her right away and made sure she stayed out of the shelter system ❤️

Chewie underwent his urethral repair surgery yesterday and it was a very emotional day 🥲 He only had one chance at recovery and it depended on where his stricture was located. After a 3 hour surgery, Dr. Sadanaga was able to repair the area and now Chewie needs to heal under a close watch. Dr. S. also informed us that Chewie’s pelvis had been fractured in 3 places and one of the fractures had cut his urethra and hence caused the stricture which then led to a fistula. This kind of trauma is not cause by accident 🥲
Chewie was stable and eating today when they gave us an update and we hope that he is back home/foster by Tuesday! He is a fighter and in the best hands ❤️

Chewie Pupdate:
Little man had a couple of tough days not able to express his bladder and the decision was made to move up his surgery to tomorrow. He was admitted to Veterinary Referral Center this afternoon so that he can be monitored and hopefully obtain some relief. This little guy has been through so many procedures in such a short amount of time 😢 We are hopeful that tomorrow will be the last and he will be on the road to a normal and long happy life!

This poor boy was found in a dumpster, hypothermic, dehydrated, bloody, with a distended bladder and in extreme pain. He was too weak to stand or walk when he arrived at ACCT Philly. The vet staff there worked tirelessly to stabilize him and then Tiny Paws stepped in to get him the medical attention he needed ❤️.
Chewie has been through unimaginable trauma, likely at the hands of humans. His wound was so severe that it led directly to his bladder, causing him pain and discomfort. He is currently wearing diapers to help keep the wound clean, but he needs further medical attention and expensive surgery to fully recover. He is currently being fostered at PI4W Headquarters 🥰🐾.

**Update 6/11: Chewie was admitted today after straining too much to urinate. His bladder was huge so they will drain it for him and make him comfortable until he can have surgery tomorrow. He cannot wait until next week to get relief so surgery is being expedited. We will keep everyone updated! ***

Our own amazing board member Jennifer Micali volunteered with her business team at yesterday 🙌🏼 While there one of their adoptable pups injured her eye coming out of her kennel and we decided to cover her medical care at so that the shelter could utilize funds elsewhere in their lifesaving efforts 🐾
Meet Heavenly 🐶 This sweet older lab was left by her family to survive in their yard when they moved. She drank rainwater to survive and has gained 40 lbs since her rescue. Heavenly is 9 years old, deaf and has arthritis that slows her down but she is a sweet and gentle soul. If you are looking for more information on Heavenly please contact .

Meet Charlie! The folks at @sidepaws worked with her owners and got Charlie not only off a chain but also spayed. Charlie has had many litters in the past and this is a step in the right direction. We were able to sponsor charlie’s enclosure cost of $600 so that she would be safe from the elements and also other dogs in her residence. @sidepaws is a grassroots group that works with owners to make changes in the quality and care of dogs. Making changes in the community will ensure a brighter future for pets in the future.

Posted @withregram • @phillyurgents Peter Pan ACCT-A-116938 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay (3 weeks😑). Peter Pan must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Thursday, July 28th, at 10 a.m. Should Peter Pan's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Email [email protected] to foster through Acct. Acct is open from 10am-6pm daily for walk up adoptions. This dog is evaluated as a green level dog. This means that brand new volunteers are permitted to handle and walk him because he’s that easy going. Just go to acct to meet him this weekend. Acct has reduced overall kennel space from 112 to 59 large dog kennels, and really need dogs to be adopted/rescued/fostered or they’ll be euthanized. Peter Pan is a young male mixed breed dog who was brought into the shelter as a stray on June 29th. The finder noted that he was loving and good around other animals, and very good on leash. Staff noted on 6/30 that he was "easy to leash, and wanted to say hi to everyone he passed. He was loose and social with his handler, and solicited attention, allowing full body pets. He had a wagging tail and was very tolerant of touching his paws, too. If the handler stopped petting, he would whine and seek out more pets. He was playful and pretty gentle, and jumped beside the handler but not on her." During his vet exam on 6/30, the vet noted that he has bilateral ear infections and bleeding excoriations on both pinna that may need follow up care, but they have improved with treatment, He also has a right maxillary canine tooth that will likely require extraction at some point.
Aubrey had a blast hopping around the city with her volunteer pal & foster, Michael. This is what he had to say about her: Aubrey (ANIMAL ID ACCT-A-115534) is a sweet, gentle girl looking for a place to call home and a soft blanket on which to spend most of her time. Aubrey does not seem interested in chew toys. She is most interested in her blanket. She spends most of the day on her bed; but when she’s not sleeping, she’s sitting at my feet soliciting scratches and pets. Aubrey has been a wonderful companion, an especially affectionate girl. When she receives enough attention, she will then snooze on my feet. After a few minutes on my feet, she will get up and seek out the comfort of her blanket. Maybe she needs all the rest she can to get ready for her next walk. She has shown herself to be housetrained—no accidents. On our walks, she sometimes prances with her steps and finds patches of grass to roll in. She will sit when told, and she’ll offer her paw when requested. These past few days, Aubrey has displayed patient and quiet behavior when in her crate for up to an hour. I will see how she does for longer periods of time. Aubrey will always alert me with a few barks when someone passes my door. It’s been a terrific experience spending time with a friendly and social girl.
