As we mentioned earlier this month, TCPR is growing and that means our volunteer team needs to grow with it!🎉

As a part of this growth, we are looking for more office volunteers! Office volunteers should be 18+ and have reliable transportation to the TCPR office in Maplewood. Shifts are flexible and can vary, but volunteers should be able to commit to 4 hours a month. Office volunteers will be asked to help with various office tasks including sorting donations, inventory, light cleaning, and other admin tasks.

🐶 Meet Shirley 🐶

Shirley is an adorable 1-year-old Chihuahua/Pug who will "Surely" keep you on your toes! She is very energetic and loves to play tug-of-war and fetch. She also will give you lots of love - she is a big fan of being pet and will sit in your lap to get those pets and give you some kisses.

Shirley has not lived with other dogs or kids, but she is very friendly and would likely do well with them. She can get a little worried if her humans are not around, so her ideal home is one where people are home often. She is great at the "sit" command and is kennel trained.

Join Us TOMORROW! 🐶🍺🎉

Twin Cities Pet Rescue will be back at Unleashed Hounds and Hops on Monday, January 16th from 4:00pm-9:00pm for Drinks for Dogs night. 10% of all food and beverage proceeds will be donated back to the rescue, so come by and enjoy food, drinks, and lots of fun!

Pet Evolution will also be onsite from 5:00pm-7:00pm doing Nail Trims with $5 going back to the Twin Cities Pet Rescue for every trim.

🌟Meet Stan the Man🌟

This energetic kitten is sure to keep you on your toes! He's a big fan of full water and food bowls and isn't afraid to let you know when things are getting low by meowing at you. He loves all toys and is a big fan of catnip!

Stan the Man has done well with other cats and would love a young, playful friend in his home. But would likely do fine as an only cat if his humans were prepared to give him lots of attention. He hasn't met a dog while in rescue but we think he would do fine with them! He has also done well with my young kids.

HOLY COW! Look at all of those donations!😲

Normandale French Immersion School held a supply drive for TCPR and look at all of the supplies that they donated! We are SO thankful! Our foster dogs and cats are going to be so happy! 🐶🐱

As a part of their drive, they also made some super fun cat toys that we know our cats are going to love so much!

In addition to the adorable cats we shared yesterday, we also recently welcomed Pippin and Butterbean to TCPR!🎉

We welcomed in our first cat/kitten intake of 2025 on Saturday!🐱

The cats are all a little nervous but we know they will do great once they are able to settle into their foster homes! The kittens are all exactly what you would expect from kittens, they are spunky, silly, and sooo adorable!❤️

In order of the photos, meet W***y Wonka and Veruka Salt, Augustus Gloop, Wilbur, Zander, Zola, Zelda, Zara, Zoi, Susan, and Pig Pen.

They are all currently in the process of settling into their foster homes and completing their required vetting before they will be available for adoption. Be sure to keep an eye on our adoptable animals page for when these cuties get posted!

It's the first of the year! Today we are giving an update on Calliope (fka Earth) who was adopted in September of 2022.

"Everything is going great! Earth, now Calliope, spent a couple days cooped up in her own room but now she has free reign of our apartment. She absolutely loves people until she is overcome by her energy, of course!"

2024 was a HUGE year for Twin Cities Pet Rescue! Our rescue is growing and that means our team is growing along with it!

We have a bunch of new volunteer opportunities that we will be posting throughout the next few months, so be sure to keep an eye out for anything that may interest you and share with friends or family who may also be interested!

Our first volunteer opportunity is Cat Adoption Coordinators! They are responsible for reviewing applications and communicating with fosters/adopters to help find the right home for each cat. They act as matchmakers for the cats in rescue and play a key role in helping cats through their final step in rescue: finding a furever home.

We also partner with a few adoption centers such as The Cafe Meow, Petco, and Chuck and Dons and could use help coordinating store placement with fosters and the store teams.

Cat Adoption Coordinators should be able to:

✅Check the inbox daily with some days having more work than others
✅Be comfortable with learning new systems and working through email
✅ShelterLuv experience with a plus!
