The UK vet sector is under review amid worries over costs and competition.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is now launching a review of the sector, looking at consumer experiences and vet business practices for household pets in the UK.

There are worries that pet owners are not given easy access to information about pricing and treatment options when deciding which vet to use and which services to buy. Figures suggest that vet costs have also surged at a faster pace than wider inflation.

With many independent vet practices being snapped up by bigger chains in recent years, it is concerned that pet owners may be not aware their vet is part of a group which owns others in their area, and possibly of services being sold to them, such as diagnostic tests or treatments at a specialist animal hospital.

The CMA said the number of independent vet practices has fallen sharply in recent years, with these accounting for 89% of the UK veterinary industry in 2013, but only around 45% by 2021.

It is calling for pet owners and vet practitioners – including surgeons, nurses, practice managers and vet businesses – to give their views via the CMA’s website, at gov.uk/vets-market-review.

The CMA has launched a review into the veterinary services market for household pets.

There are hundreds of thousands of dog trainers world wide on social media, this should mean that hundreds and thousands of dog trainers should be posting or could be posting content that helps people, yet for some reason, all I see is so many trainers using their platforms to bring down other trainers and not actually help those who really need help.
It screams insecurity and it’s sad and it’s everyday dog owners who suffer. If you are a dog trainer use your platform to provide value

‼️ NEVER SIGN POLICE PAPERS ‼️

No matter what the police tell you, never sign any papers or put your signature on a digital device if they seize your dog.

Police may say you will never get your dog back, this is not true.

They may say it will cost you £1000s, we can help.

They may say you will get a criminal record, that depends on the charges.

Only a court can decide the future of your dog if you don't sign them over to the police. With the right advice and legal team, plus an independent assessment if necessary you stand a very good chance of getting your dog home with conditions.
