ADOPT CHICO BENTO!

This cute little guy is only around 2 months old and was recently rescued from a building's garage. He is a very gentle albeit somewhat shy little boy who would love to find a home without small kids and, ideally, another feline to play with. As you can see, he is very playful and loves pets. This sweet boy recently had the chance to spend 2 amazing weeks in foster care, and he loved every minute of it. Aside from housetrained and well-mannered, Billy is also a fun dude, always ready for an adventure. He's truly the perfect sidekick!

⛔ IMPORTANT NOTICE / BE AWARE / POSSIBLE CRIME

On Tuesday 11.02.2025, we were informed of a disturbing encounter - whilst a maid walked her employer's dog on Av. Friedrich Engels, a black car with tinted windows stopped, 3 men in plain clothes stepped out, stated that they were from the municipality (conselho municipal) and aggressively demanded that the maid and the dog accompany them to the police station. Luckily, after the maid caused some commotion, some of the residence guards came out to her aid, and the 3 men promptly left. This was not a "fancy" breed dog, as one might expect would attract unwanted attention, and the motives are still unclear. We have however been told that a dog was taken from another walker the day before this incident under similar circumstances, though we have been unable to corroborate that.
To all dog parents, please be mindful and inform your staff so they can be prepared should this happen again.
We recommend you educate your dog walking staff on what to do in such a situation, i.e. insist on calling you the employer and rightful dog owner immediately, request to view credentials, take note of the car registration, and ensure there are sufficient onlookers to the situation.

⛔ AVISO IMPORTANTE / ATENÇÃO / POSSÍVEL CRIME

Na terça-feira dia 11 de Fevereiro, fomos notif**adas de uma situação deveras preocupante - quando uma funcionária passeava o cão dos seus patrões na Av. Friedrich Engels, foi abordada por 3 indivíduos, vestidos à civil, que se deslocavam num carro preto com vidros fumados e afirmaram ser funcionários do Concelho Municipal, os mesmos muito agressivamente exigiram que a funcionária e o cão os acompanhassem à esquadra. Por sorte, e depois de uma discussão acesa e recusa veemente da funcionária, alguns guardas da zona aproximaram-se para ajudar e os 3 indivíduos rapidamente se foram embora. Este cão não era de nenhuma raça específ**a, como seria de esperar para atrair atenção indesejada, e os motivos ainda não estão claros. Foi-nos dito que um cão foi retirado de um outro funcionário em circunstâncias semelhantes na segunda-feira, embora ainda não tenhamos conseguido confirmar esta informação.
A todos os tutores de cães, por favor tomem nota deste ocorrido e avisem os vossos funcionários para que eles possam estar preparados caso isto aconteça de novo.
Recomendamos que expliquem aos vossos funcionários o que fazer nesta situação como por exemplo: insistir em ligar ao patrão / dono legítimo do cão imediatamente, solicitar a identif**ação aos indivíduos, tomar nota da matrícula do carro, chamar a atenção / estarem cientes das possíveis testemunhas para corroborar o incidente.

BENNY NEEDS A NEW FOSTER HOME!

Due to the recent cuts in foreign aid by the US, Benny's foster mom will sadly be forced to leave the country sooner and thus Benny now needs a new foster home. 🥺 Benny is around 6 years old, already neutered and up to date on his vaccinrs. He is good with other gentle cats but his favorite thing in the world are his humans. Benny is very affectionate and needs to stay indoors. If you'd like to foster or adopt Benny, please send us a message!

ADOPT MACCHIA!
This 7 year old boy lost his home after his owner found himself in unexpected life changing circumstances. Macchia is an affectionate boy, happy to be around people and get as many cuddles as he can. Sadly, he was never properly socialized with other dogs or children, and for that reason, we are looking for a home with no other dogs and no young kids (calm teens are fine). Preference will be given to people who have had experience with the breed. If you'd like to meet Macchia, please DM us.

Please help us welcome little Flora! Last week, we got a desperate call from our friends at after they rescued this poor baby girl who was badly burned on her head and front legs. We are fortunate to have our wonderful caretakers who are capable of handling these cases, and were happy to once again partner up with our AdA colleagues in order to help this angel turn her life around. UPDATE ON XICO:
This sweet boy came in 2 months ago, emaciated, suffering from mange and tick bite fever. After lots of medical care (paid for by our generous donors), food and TLC, this boy has completely transformed into a giant soft teddy bear. Xico craves human affection and is happiest when he's getting cuddles or going for walks. He's ok with some other dogs and loves (nice calm) children. This boy suffered serious neglect for 7 long years, not due to cruelty, but due to ignorance. He now deserves a second chance at being a beloved house pet and a valued member of the family. Will you be his forever family?

Este patudo meiguinho foi resgatado há 2 meses, magrinho, com sarna e febre da carraça. Dear friends,
We need a foster home for Oscar and Felix for 3-4 months or a furever home! They have been in a lovely foster home for the past 2 years, but their foster dad is leaving the country and the plan that was put it place for the next person to take over, sadly fell through. These 2 gentlemen are calm and well-mannered. Oscar is particularly affectionate and Felix is content with just the presence of loving humans. Although they were initially rescued by different organizations (Felix is an AdA rescue, and Oscar a PATA rescue), they became close buddies in their foster home and both organizations have agreed to try and keep them together. So we now need to find short-term (and eventually long-term) care for our boys, so please share far and wide! 🙏
NB: As foster dogs, all of Oscar's and Felix's vet expenses are covered by PATA and AdA. All we need is the home and the love.

Caros amigos,
Precisamos de uma casa de acolhimento para o Óscar e o Felix por 3-4 meses ou de uma casinha definitiva! Estes dois meninos têm estado numa casa de acolhimento nos últimos 2 anos mas o seu padrinho vai-se embora do país e o plano que havia para uma outra família f**ar com eles, não se vai concretizar. Estes 2 cavalheiros são calmos e bem educados. O Óscar é particularmente meigo e o Félix f**a contente por apenas estar perto de humanos que gostem dele. Apesar de terem sido resgatados por organizações diferentes(o Félix foi resgatado pela AdA e o Óscar pela PATA), eles f**aram muito amiguinhos na casa de acolhimento e ambas as organizações concordaram tentar mantê-los juntos. Precisamos assim de encontrar uma solução de curto prazo e eventualmente uma solução de longo prazo, para os nossos patudos por isso por favor partilhem muito! 🙏
NB: Como cães de acolhimento, todas as despesas veterinárias do Óscar e do Félix serão cobertas pela PATA e AdA. Eles só precisam de um cantinho seguro onde sejam acarinhados. Se puder ajudar, por favor contacte:

His wound is healing, his eyes are looking better than before and he is much more active than when he first arrived. NALA IS NOT DOING WELL IN THE KENNELS 🆘 FOSTER OR ADOPT 🆘 **Good with dogs, cats and kids** This gorgeous girl is not adjusting to kennel life at all. It is absolutely heartbreaking. She craves human companionship so much that she keeps trying to get out of her kennel and hurts herself in the process. The stress is triggering her allergies and she really needs a foster or forever home. Nala is around 2 years old and already spayed. Please, please consider giving this sweet girl a break. ‼ WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT We found this beautiful kitty in incredible pain and distress on the side of the road along the Marginal. We rushed him to CoopVet where he was sedated (he was in a lot of pain) to allow for a thorough assessment. His condition is very critical. We don't yet know what happened to him but it is the worst case we have seen in a while. We will post an update as soon as we know more. Please keep this poor boy in your thoughts! 🥺🙏 ‼ AVISO: RESGATE EM ESTADO CRÍTICO Encontramos este gatinho em choque e sofrimento na berma da Marginal. Fomos logo para a CoopVet onde foi sedado (estava com muita dor) para poder ser avaliado. Ele está em estado bastante crítico.
