Update on our sweet Douglas and his little sweet sis Fern❤️
Two weeks ago Douglas got real sick. He was struggling to breathe, horrible cough, not eating and no energy. Took him to Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. Wow was he sick! He was put on an antibiotic, steam room treatments and also nebulizer treatments and lung tapping. On the 4th day I started to see some improvement.

We're now on day 14 from the onset of his horrible symptoms. He's doing amazing. He's gained weight full of energy, and loving on his sis. Tomorrow he has his first recheck. He'll have additional chest xrays done and I'm so anxious to see the difference from the ones he had done before. Hopefully he'll be healed!

We received some clarification regarding Carson City Nevada Humane Society and their Sunday hours............Animal control is still open on Sundays to respond to strays! You'll just be paged through to the non emergency line for the sheriff's office to file a report!

And now its Fatso's turn. This boy is desperate to find a long term foster home that will treat him like their own. Here's what we know about him after 6 plus weeks with me.

He doesn't do well with other adult cats. He loves kittens, but adults~especially males can be an issue. While it would be difficult for him to pass on Fiv to another cat because of his loss of canine teeth, it's still a slight worry. He loves hanging out with his person. He is quite the lap boy and extremely affectionate. He's on wet food 3 x a day to help with his fluid intake. He's also on a low dose steroid ear cream 2x a day that may eventually be down to once every 2 days depending on how it maintains his allergies.

His ideal home would be with an older person that's home most of the time so he can have a lap.😀 Another idea would be an assisted living that would love to have a sweet guy wandering the area giving love to the residents. Remember that we will take care of his needs wherever he would go.
