Breeding Quality Himalayan Rabbits.
First litters of the year are here!! Hunters dutch doe had 4 ( 3 blues, 1 black) Katie's havana doe had 5 (4 broken, 1 solid) and my havana doe had 4 (2 black, 2 blue) still have 2 does due at the end of the week and then we will see where we are! Hopefully some awesome prospects in there!!
Katie and I have been very excited about our havana project!! Katie was so lucky to have had the opportunity to bring these genetics into her program. Red pikes Neptune is going to be a big staple here. He is the blue buck pictured, he also poses better than this and is rock solid to the table. He's still growing. The black doe pictured is a black brood doe, who is also this bucks mother. The broken chocolate doe was a very fortunate find from John McMillin and we could not be more excited about this doe! She is going places and now Katie has her eyes set on the prize I only had dreams of as a kid, she wants lilac havanas and with this doe and this buck she could make that happen!! Stay tuned because convention 2023 is only a year away!!
We had a great day at the Washington County PA rabbit breeders show! Thank you to all the judges and the winners! Katie ended up winning Best of breed in show A with her black Havana doe! Hunter is off to a great start with his Dutch as well picking up two BOV with his black Dutch buck. Katie's black Havana doe also took a BOSV in show B. All around a really great day of showing rabbits!! A special thanks to the breeders who helped hunter and Katie get a good start with Havanas and Dutch!

3 SR brood does. 2 blue, 1 black. Neptune and smidge are proven, Luna is not ( lost first litter). Pm for more details.
3 Jr bucks. 2 black, 1 blue. Will be show quality, a bit of staining on them but they are also molting out baby fur. Pm for details.
Black SR buck. Roundtree's Tid Bit. Very nice buck, he is finishing his molt and is a bit stained on the fur that's still molting. Proven. Pm for more details.
Well I've been dreding this post because I know it will come with great sadness for most of my himi family but we will be dispursing our current herd. Katie and I have put tons of hours, sweat, tears and many happy times with our himis but she is asking to move on to another breed and honestly I'm tired of fighting s**t, himis are a WONDERFUL breed and I would love to have them again someday! That being said over the next few days I'll be posting the remaining rabbits I have who will be searching for homes. Most if not all are going to be sold as brood animals even though some are more than showable! Please reach out to me if you have interest or any questions!

How is it that I have so many nice does!! I don't have room for all of them! Will be making cuts tonight. Those cut will be posted for sale. A few does who I would otherwise keep and maybe a Jr buck or 2. Stay tuned!

Tis the season to go from 16 rabbits to 44 in a month lol and if this little blue girl is any indication of what the kids and I have coming up we are extra excited. Welcome CrossHare's Blue Valentine.
Zelda had a beautiful litter of 6 by artimis yesterday on 4/21/2022. And this morning 4/22/2022 Neptune delivered 5 by Tidbit! Very happy these litters are here and healthy!
I weened 3 very cute little grow outs yesterday. 2 blue does and a black buck. All are being held back currently as we have more litters to ween soon too. Astrea has 8 remaining and artemisa has 7 respectively. Zelda and Neptune are due next week. Likely all of these will not stay and there will he hard cuts to make. I put anything available here first.
Now that I'm home and on the mend I can post about nationals!! Katie and I had an amazing time and loved getting to see everyone again. Katie was so excited and she placed fairly well in the national youth show with her blue senior doe taking a 4th place. She was so so proud. She put her own rabbits on and off the table and she was very very chatty with everyone! Thank you all for the amazing day. Even though I had to leave early (darn uti) it was a great day with even better people!! Congratulations to all the winners and we hope to see you all again real soon!
Peeping at this little cutie! No names yet as we decided this time to not name anything before it's been weened and tattooed. But boy so far she's a real looker!
Nationals entries are in. Katie will be showing her blues. And that's it folks lol s**tt ruined most of our plans but hey! We have so many little ones out there to watch grow and mature! Ready for Saturday!
So many cute babies out there!! There are a few I'm watching. We are starting to see a lot more variety in the colors out there. Lots of blues!! The blues are our favorites anyhow! Can't wait for the next two litters around end of April! Zelda and Neptune are both due the same day!

Just like... well we all know.. these candles have multiplied! Almost ready to paint!

Astrea just had the largest litter I've ever had! For a first time mom I'm shocked. 11 in total. They are also the smallest himi babies I've ever seen so I'm not sure they will all survive but here is to hoping!
Show season is upon us and these are the spring shows we plan on attending. We may only have 1 or 2 animals to show but it's more about promoting our breed and having fun!! We have some brood animals that will be looking to move along.

I am really liking the look of these two the more they grow. Luna is Katie's pride and joy while Zelda is mine lol i can't get enough of how dark blue Luna is!! Poor Zelda looks like she put to much eyeliner on lol
On the plus side of things I am happy to announce that I will be taking the drive to PASARBA on Saturday the 5th to pick up two new additions to our program. I can't thank Sara Roundtree enough!! Bringing home a really nice black sr buck and a black Jr doe!! Bucks name is Tid Bit!! Girl doesn't have a name just yet!! Can't wait to show them off! Stay tuned!
