We wanted a dog to be part of the family, but had to consider the 2 cats that would have their entire world turned upside down. The perfect opportunity came and we met the sweetest little 1.5 year old pit bull rescue that was cat friendly. It couldn't be better! Evenings at home have always been spent on the couch with the kitties. With the arrival of the dog, evenings were still on the couch, but
with the dog and no cats to be found. Not what we pictured. Then the idea hit! If we can build a tall sturdy cat tower to custom fit in a certain corner of the room then the kitties would make their way back into the room and eventually onto the couch. With patients and time and a tall cat tower the idea worked and we now enjoy evenings on the couch with everyone there. What led to Dog Gone Cots was the fact that sometimes we want the dog off the couch, without putting her on the floor. Our first cot we made was for our dog and she loves to snuggle on it.
