This committee was asked by the ACBA standards committee to make a final decision on the expansion of varieties. After much review and discussion including listening to the cavy breeders/exhibitors, we submitted four proposals to the ARBA board. All our proposals were approved by the board and will take effect with the next standard on January 1/26.
1. BRINDLE—The color is made up of any self (except white) with another self, or agouti, or solid hairs which should be evenly intermixed.
2. ROAN—The roan color is comprised of an intermixing of white hairs plus one or two recognized Self, Agouti, Solid, Tan Pattern or Cal Pattern colors.
3. BROKEN COLOR—Color to consist of patches of any two or more recognized Self, Solid, Agouti, Tan Pattern or Cal Pattern colors.
4. DALMATIAN—Color is to consist of any one recognized Self, Solid or Agouti colorin the form of spots on a white background, with ears and eyes to match corresponding marking color.
