Mackenzie Kool finished the week strong for us with another Reserve Champion Ribbon! 🌟 Huge shoutout to Mak and her partner Nuttin But Sunshine & Whiskey, for earning Reserve Champion in the UPHA WT Qualifier 2025 and taking Top Ten in the UPHA WT Final.

Monster Man Dan and Mackenzie Kool shined as Reserve Champion Show Pleasure WT in their Qualifier with just a single appearance! What a ride they had together ❤️ In a big group, this dynamic duo looked like a million bucks! Way to go, team!

And let’s not forget Perfectly Imperfect and Bentley Kool, who snagged 3rd out of 15! They delivered a standout performance, making spectacular passes one after another. They navigated a tough class like absolute bosses! Woohoo! 🎉👏

🎉 We’ve officially kicked off the American Royal week, our favorite show of the year! The excitement is in the air, the show has been sold out, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store! 🐴✨

⭐️Perfectly Imperfect and Bentley Kool took Reserve Champion in the Mo-Kan-IA Show Pleasure Junior Exhibitor Qualifier! Wohoo!!!

⭐️A Touch of Wonder and Samantha Thomas were an exciting third in the super competitive Show Pleasure 18-38 Qualifier! This pair was phenomenal 😍!

⭐️Temper Rarely Nuts and Dr. Beth Doggett had a perfect ride to take 4th in the Mo-Kan-IA Open Five-Gaited Am/Juvenile Qualifier! This is their first time on the green shavings. Way to go, Beth!

⭐️Calling Dr. Love looked outstanding in his second class ever and took 7th in Park pleasure 3 year old.

We had a wonderful show this weekend at the IASA Octoberfest Horse Show! It was a big success for our riders and horses. So many great rides/drives. We are bringing home lots of Blue Ribbons and Top Placings. I am so proud of our riders and horses! 💜

Keith Equestrian Center is looking for a full or part time stall cleaner and groom. Duties include, but not limited to: feeding, stall cleaning, farm chores. Monday- Friday, and some Saturdays. Flexible hours available.
*Must have previous horse experience.
*Must have reliable transportation
*Must be over 18 years old.

Our Story

Keith Equestrian Center is a family owned and operated equestrian facility in the beautiful rolling countryside of Southeast Iowa. Our mission is to develop and showcase the unique abilities of the American Saddlebred and the people who love them. We believe in offering excellent care and attention to every person and equine that comes to KEC, with a commitment to safety, and a desire to represent Christian principles within our beloved equestrian world.

KEC offers English & Western Riding Lessons, Training, Boarding, Leasing, Sales, and Showing. Although we specialize in the American Saddlebred horse, we are open to all breeds and disciplines.

We welcome all to KEC whether Adult or Child, from beginner to advanced, and for competition or recreation. We take pride in having something for everyone

Kelsi Keith-Rusch is the Owner/Trainer/Instructor of Keith Equestrian Center. She got her start training horses young. She has started and finished over 60+ horses. With many more having been in training with her. "I love starting a young horse and putting a foundation on them so that in any discipline that horse will be successful. It is a blessing to be a part of a horse's life and to see them blossom with training."
