Quick Crush update. She's doing well after surgery. For that's who don't know Crush's story. Some crazy person tired her to a zipline, and proceeded to SHOOT her. :'( She's a hot mess, thankfully, she's getting a second chance.
Good morning everyone!
It’s May 1st which means it’s Bucks for Bullies day. We’re also going to do our best to update everyone on Crush’s status, but before we do, we’d like to ask everyone to please exercise some patience in this situation. We ALWAYS, ALWAYS update when we have updates to share, so commenting on posts for “updates”, sending emails and phone calls is a bit overkill. We won’t update IN a post, but will rather give the updates their own posts - SO FOLLOW THE MAIN PAGE.
Now, onto the business at hand…
First and foremost, we started Bucks for Bullies 12 years ago as a way for everyone to make a big difference in a small way. One dollar from each person on this page would equal about $26,000 which is about the same amount Crush’s care will be. IT ADDS UP QUICK, and is why we started this. It’s been an ongoing fundraiser each month for as long as we’ve been doing this.
In the last 2 weeks we have brought in 8 dogs, all of whom have continuing health issues. (Please go to our page to see those dogs). We also have 25 other dogs currently in our care that need monthly preventatives, food, training, and toys in an effort to prepare them for their adoptive families. These things cost money, hence the need for the Bucks for Bullies fundraiser. Donations can be made through either link on this post.
We don’t have any updated pictures on our girl *yet*. We asked for some through her journey at the hospital and were promised that they’d send them, but they did not. SO, you’re stuck with pics we took before her surgery. 🤷♀️
Crush had her first surgery yesterday morning. They repaired her right shoulder and femur. All went well. This morning they are going in and scoping her left knee as it had some minor damage, and splinting her left wrist (the one with the gaping hole) as it was dislocated a bit. We are being promised that she will be UP on all four legs by the time she leaves the hospital which is our goal. She will have a solid 6 week recovery, but there’s every indication that she will do well, so we have to believe that for now.
Barring no additional complications, Crush should be able to leave the hospital no later than Wednesday. We will update more as we have it. Until then, we would like to extend our gratitude for the love and care you’re showing her from far and wide. ❤️
