Adoption Conditions:
• A two week trial period commences from the date of adoption. If the cat is not suitable it may be returned to Cat Rescue Port Stephens (CRPS) during this trial period and a refund will be issued for the full adoption fee. If the cat becomes unwell during the trial period you will contact CRPS immediately and the cat will be taken to an approved vet, otherwise you will be responsible for any vet fees.
• By adopting a rescue cat their history may not be available and CPRS cannot be held responsible for any underlying health issues that arise after the two week trial period.
• The cat will remain inside until six months of age then daytime outside visits at the owner’s discretion.
• The adopter agrees to be solely responsible for the cat and to care for the animal by means of providing adequate food, water, shelter, essential vet care when needed as well as ensuring the cat is vaccinated, wormed and flea treated to prevent diseases or parasites.
• If the adopter can no longer provide for the cat, it is agreed that they will not abandon, sell or dispose of the cat and will contact CRPS.
• If it is believed that an adopted cat is being mistreated or at risk CRPS may seize the cat without notice.
• It is the adopter's responsibility to register the cat with their local council. About Us:
We cover the Port Stephens area and are dedicated to finding new homes for our little feline friends. We are a ‘non-profit organization’, we rely on donations and community support and value any help we can get to ensure all our animals have the best quality of life. All our rescue Cats and Kittens are microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, wormed and treated for fleas. Prices vary depending on their age, this is clearly indicated in the profile of the cat/kitten unless it is a private adoption. All our cats and kittens are cared for in a loving family environment and are very sociable and friendly. If you are interested in any of the kittens/cats available, please contact us by message, email or phone. (Please be patient while waiting for a response or return phone call as we also have our private work commitments)
All cats/kittens are adopted out with conditions in place, we may therefore ask you questions and may require a house inspection. We also have the right to refuse to rehome a cat/kitten to a person if we feel that it may not be the right cat/kitten for them. Please contact us if you have any questions and as mentioned above please be patient and we will get back to as soon as we can. Mission Statement:
We are a not for profit registered charity that is dedicated to rescuing and finding loving homes for stray, abandoned and death row cats and kittens. All our rescued cats and kittens are wormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed to ensure they are healthy when adopted and to help prevent diseases, future unwanted pregnancies and feral animals and to promote responsible pet ownership. We aim to reduce euthanasia rates at pounds and educate the community about caring for their cat/s and the importance of de-sexing. Foster Carers:
Have you considered becoming a foster carer? We are always looking for new carers and are always in need of more foster carers. We need new carers so that we can keep taking on cats and kittens in need. Many of the cats/kittens that arrive into our care are dumped, sick or pregnant. All you need to provide is a loving safe home and we will provide you with as much supplies as we can. It really is the difference between life and death. If you would like to find out more information about becoming a foster carer please contact us.
