I've long been obsessed with collecting beautiful items from the past, ever since I was a little girl... I've always sewn and with a grandmother and two aunts that were seamstresses so I guess someone had to inherit the genes and I'm glad I did......
Growing up I would make clothes for my dollies and teddies moving on to evening gowns for my Sindy and Lady Penelope then later for myself. In fac
t I made my first dress on an electric sewing machine when I was just 8, it had a huge kipper tie
(what an age give away yes I was a child of the swinging groovy 60's )
I've been making and creative all sorts of things ever since. I have many creative hobbies from sewing to painting, gardening, decorating and baking. Do you know that feeling too? So from the beginning I was destined for a creative career which I have had in the Film & TV industry. I was privileged to be trained by the BBC and have worked on a huge variety of period productions and seen a host of wonderful exquisite period buildings, antique furniture, costumes, wigs etc etc......I have made period costumes, headdresses and jewellery for TV and for weddings. Having refurbished people’s furniture and sold my handmade little treasures for some time, so I decided to setup Blue Lily Vintage as way of showcasing and selling my creations. I follow so many talented people on Facebook I’m striving to become one of them! On this page you'll find lots different items, ranging from handmade cushions, handbags and ornaments, to my guilty pleasures; hand crafted lucky heirloom wedding horse shoes and gifts made with genuine vintage silks, beads, lace, diamante, wax flowers and more! Please take a look, hope you enjoy your visit and let me know what you think! (Hopefully it won't be bad :-( ...) Byeeeeeee
