A fun day at Ups 'N Downs Agility Club CPE Trial thanks to everyone for a fun show! We enjoyed Mike Brownells courses and I got to play my favorite game of Snooker for the first time in many years!
Nitro ran really well again almost all day; the last run the judge was too close for comfort so he refused to finish the final three obstacles but that’s okay, I had a dog that was engaged, happy and willing to play agility and he Qd in four out five runs all first places, and finished his level 2 Standard. Another fun weekend day for us, today we spent the day at the CPE Agility trial in La Jolla at the Performance Dog Training event. The weather was a bit warmer than normal but all in all a beautiful day. Nitro had fun today and that was my goal. We are pursuing the CPE route as that seems to be the best organization for him and that makes us both happy. Today we went 4 for 5 and the miss was just an error in jackpot. I was super happy for Nitro’s performance. Thanks so much for everyone’s hard work and Ken Perlmutter for your final agility retirement trial! Love your courses and will miss them!! Another fun filled weekend! So thankful for cooler weather!!
Wheelie - Advanced Containers and Advanced Interiors - both Q’s!! Nitro was on fire today we worked well as a team! Q in Masters Container and 1st Place. Q in Masters Interior and 2nd place! Hemi did great in his first excellent searches - we need more practice with clove but he is doing great for having just started in primary last year ❤️

This boy was on fire this weekend! Steady Eddy wins the race! He needed 9 Masters level splashes to earn his Advanced title and I entered 10 splashes of which all our jumps were between 20-21.3’…we had two shorter Senior level 19’3” jumps so thankfully we were able to enter one last splash and his first try out of the gate was 20’6” I called it done at that point! I’m tired but had a really fun weekend! Saturday we went to the Greater San Diego Bassett Hound club and both Hemi and Nitro did container searches for AKC scentwork. Nitro earned his Excellent Container Title and Hemi earned another Q and took third place in Advanced Containers. Sunday Nitro Wheelie and I went to Huntington Beach and did the CPE agility trial for DASH we had a very successful weekend; we earned two more Q’s and first places in both Colors and Standard. But more than anything we were both having fun! I have changed a lot of things around in a years time and everything seems to now be coming together. CPE is where we are going to stay for a while as there isn’t any anxiety for either of us in this organization and I want to keep it that way! Onward and Upwards! I decided to print all of these on glass - I can't wait to get them up on my wall. I will have to move some stuff around as most of my "walls" are windows...but these need to be showcased. I never had a dock diving dog before - guess I do now! Looking forward to the start of the 2025 season - Hemi is currently ranked 35th Australian Shepherd for his first full season 2024, next year we are looking at two titles and an invite to Regionals. Who knows where this may go? Maybe just stay at Valley Center Dog Dock and have fun at the pool...Thank you so much Susan Goldman Susan Goldman Photography for capturing my boy in his moments of glory!

Congratulations to all my students that participated in the AKC ACT1-2 and ACT1J-ACT2J that was held here on January 27-28, they are doing great and are getting ready to start entering their first AKC Novice events!! Great job everyone!!!

My little man Nitro earned his first NACSW Element Specialty Interior Level one title today! His first trial of the year! A great way to start it off! Thanks so much Chris Busch Laura Busch Anita Cheesman, Jessica Koester for a fun trial! A much needed break for me was appreciated! Looking forward to the next adventure! Another successful AKC ACT event for my students is in the books! ACT1-2 as well as ACT1-2 Jumpers was completed last weekend. We had 130 runs with 79 - Q's, 35 first places, 17 second places, 11 third places and 9 fourth places. More important than all the Q's and placements was the fact that everyone was able to benchmark their progress and know more of what they need to work of for the future. GREAT work by all the competitors - they stepped out of their shell and gave it a try! Congratulations to all!!! Thank you Jennifer Maloney for the photos - these are just a handful of the competitors.

I always like to follow my stats for the year not for comparison but to remind myself of how hard my dogs and I work even when sometimes it doesn't seem like we did anything....We had some challenges this year, Rain and lots of it...January, February and March were litterly only 26 days of work for me in total! That also meant practice time was limited as well. We used most of our events as practice because that is all we really had! We had some family issues that took away some of my personal time and other business dealings that had to be dealt with and took up some of my time. All in all however I am pretty pleased with my dogs results.
**Hemi who just started trialing in AKC Scentwork in July of 2023 earned his SBN - Scentwork Buried Novice Title as well as his SIN Scentwork Interior Novice title. He is two Q's away from his Scentwork Exterior title and one from his Scentwork Container Title which will give him his overall Novice Scentwork Title.
***Hemi also did quite a bit of Dock Diving in the Spring and Summer. He really likes it so we play because of that. Hemi has earned 20 legs now towards his Dock Senior Advanced. He still needs 10 more legs. He also earned three legs towards his Dock master title and needs two more for that title. He could potentially also earn his Dock Junior title, but that means we messed up if he gets that :-P.
***Hemi participated in his first NACSW trial as an FEO dog this year (for Exhibition Only) and he will be playing for real on January 14th in Chino as he got in and Nitro didn't
