Purrsia! (A2297946)
5 Years Old & 16 lbs
Hi my name is Purrsia.Purrsia arrived at the shelter on 06/13/23. My owner went into assisted living and I was sent here. I am very scared and need an experienced cat owner preferably no small kids. I do love treats and being pet. I bit when I was was first here bc I was scared and had only known the only house I ever grew up in. I miss my mommy and I am sure she would be upset I am unhappy.
I just want a chance at life. Look at my eyes, they say it all.
Thank you .
Purrsia ❤️

Broward's Live Release Rate hits record low. Numbers haven't been this bad since April of 2020. This is how Emily Wood runs the county shelter now.
BROWARD COUNTY ANIMAL CARE & ADOPTION DRUGGING DOGS😢
She is being drugged by Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center.
This is the mom who was surrendered to BCAC with her two puppies. Both of her puppies were adopted and the third baby rescued by one of Hallandale Beach Police Department. I will help to raise a reputable rescue or adopter funds to get her out. If you are a rescue and have interest in helping, message me and I can discuss fundraising. Please share so we can get out to safety. The shelter is drugging her to keep her calm. This has the opposite effect the longer she is left there. PLEASE SHARE!!

Here's a little perspective on Broward County's animal shelter. Mismanagement has gone on for almost a decade!

Highly criticized director Emily Wood states that the shelter does not kill for time or space. Yet, her website states animals become 'AT RISK' once they are at the shelter over 60 days. Robust marketing and adoption programs would help place more animals. Unfortunately, Emily prefers you make an appointment. 😞😞 Meanwhile, recently canine deaths reached 4-5 year highs at the shelter.
Commissioners need to start listening to the people!
Our HIGH KILL shelter director has been busy doing absolutely nothing except killing innocent pets needlessly!! Her Live Release Rate(LRR) is abysmal! 78.5% for dogs in September and down to 70% since last Friday! Just last September the LRR was 90%!! Ms Wood has implemented NO proactive programs since her arrival 18 months ago and that means our shelter must either kill to make space or refuse to intake pets in need! Neither scenario is good for our pets. Just like this director is not good for Broward! Emily Wood must go ASAP!
Why is Broward County Administration and Monica Cepero allowing her to remain??
It’s a great question! But one they refuse to answer !!
Good choices lead to good outcomes.
Bad choices lead to bad outcomes.
Broward needs to re-commit to No Kill.
No More Excuses.

And yet, excuses for it have reached peak absurdity
😢 WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE BROWARD COUNTY SHELTER?? 😢
-----> 😭😡 1 OUT OF 4 DOGS LEAVE IN A BODY BAG! 😭😡
Broward needs Rescue Help. If you can foster any of these dogs, please let us know or contact a local rescue you know.
SAVE A LIFE !
Urgent call to supporters. We need to get loud. This dog died 6 days after feeling Freedom bc Emily Wood thinks she isn’t sheltering well. She’s ended relationships with bully rescues and now kills indiscriminately. We need to speak up now.
