And our sole purpose is to provide enrichment, love, exercise for the dogs and an easy life for you 👏 It takes us just over 5 days to get your dog enrolled with us and the process is quick and easy. Before I packed up for my sunny, over indulging 7 day holiday in Alcudia, Mallorca (sorry guys) 🤣, I got the opportunity to do some wonderful training with this lovely canine: Dexter. It was actually just booked as a dog walking session... but I always love to help to train dogs where I can. "No recall and reactive", was the update from the owners 😔 Switched on reactions, fun and less anxiety was how we left 👍 As a first walk precaution I had the training line, and my dog training collar on Dex just incase some rabid ferrol wolf decided to appear and I needed a quick connection to his brain! The DTCs noise / vibration setting wasn't used. But the training line was handy, and the clicker and treats were used a lot! This video was actually shared to the owners, hence the ramblings on! I've recommended joining TADs outdoor sessions for confidence and training boosting! REALLY Looking forward to hopefully doing more behaviour work with this big guy soon! 🐶 Now back to my Sangria 🍷... *side note - I actually worked with Dexter about 10m ago. We started the general rehabilitation process as Dex was a Romanian Rescue. Sometimes the consistency and repetition of the right human involvement drops off, or fluctuates, which is not a problem. Because understanding dog psychology is really hard! What does your dog do when you open the front door? The side gate? Or the boot on your car? × jump out ×run off × I don't know cause I don't trust them so I restrain them and hang on for dear life. Most of the time people 'restrain' a dog in the vehicle to 'keep them safe', and stop them from jumping out and running off. And yes it does stop them from being able to run off, BUT it doesn't actually teach them to be safe, and choose not to run off - to be invited out of the car.... Start small, take a few steps away, 1 or 2. Then reward for the wait. Build it up the more you see trust coming through. The moment your dog looks like they're going to creep forward - correct them (use a sound or the command again). Practice this inside the 🏡 and out in the car!
