Little Carolina Paws Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue for neonate kittens (5 weeks and under). We are completely volunteer run.

We are a nonprofit group of dedicated fosters located in the West Columbia/Lexington area. We are completely donation funded and all staff/volunteers work completely for

free (most of us actually put money into the rescue on a monthly/weekly basis!). We do not have a rescue building. LCPR was born out of the incredible need for neonate kitten caregivers. Our primary focus is providing care for neonate kittens (kittens unable to eat 100% on their own) that are usually unable to be accepted into other shelters or rescues due to lack of time or training to provide the necessary care needed for kittens of this age. Due to the high demand of care needed by kittens of this age and limited room/fosters, we are unable to provide help for adult cats and/or older kittens. We try to provide help for pregnant or nursing cats when able. Pregnant and nursing cats require their own quiet room away from other cats and dogs (and most of the time not sharing a room with a person either.) Due to the amount of space needed, we are currently very limited on the number of pregnant/nursing cats we can help because of the small number of fosters able to provide the space needed. All of the volunteer fosters and volunteer staff at LCPR take great pride in what we do. We love each and every kitten that comes to us. We do our absolute best to provide the medical, mental, and emotional care each kitten needs to prepare for a forever home. We consider each kitten part of our families and take the application process seriously to ensure each kitten gets a great home that fits their needs.

UPDATE- kittens are safe!!
Would anybody in or around the Elloree area be available to transport these kittens to me ASAP? I will be helping another rescue with them. Their mom was hit by a car this am. 😔 One of them is weaker than the others so worried about it fading. The rescue I'm working with is already on another transport going the opposite direction so won't be able to get to the kittens until late afternoon. If you can help, please text me at 803-602-4178. Look. How. Cute!! These littles are growing at super speed. They are officially weaned to kitten mush. They have started wrestling and playing with toys. **UPDATE- So excited to announce that I think we have all the canned food that will be needed for these three kittens. If you would still like to donate, we will still need the Royal Canin mother and baby cat dry food in another week or so! **

Buttercup and Wesley are about 4wks old today. They are starting to get curious and playful. When they aren't sleeping, they're kitty wrestling. 😻 Since they are almost old enough to not need a constant heat source, I'll be transferring them into a playpen later this week. They will still have access to a heated area but this will give them more room for playing.

This little cutie will be spending a couple weeks with us as well until transferring to For Love of a Paw. He was found alone behind a Home Depot. Approximately 12-14 days old. (He will be kept separate from other two kittens since he is not from the same litter and not transferring to the same rescue)

Mirabel is super sweet and loving on her terms. So your typical calico! Mirabel wants attention and to be pet but does not like to be smothered. She loves to play with toys and bat them around the room. She has always done great with kittens and has learned to tolerate other adult cats in the house. It just takes her time to adjust. She also does well with low energy dogs that would not want to pester her. Good with older children familiar with proper cat handling. Not a cat for younger children since she does not always want attention and to be pet.

Camilo is playful and adventerous. Super sweet. He likes attention but mostly on his terms. He is currently in a foster home with other cats but we think he'd prefer a home where he's the only cat. Camilo was returned to LCPR about two months ago, no fault of his own, and is still adjusting to being back in foster care. He'd love to find his true forever home!

LCPR is doing things a little different this year. I will be helping a few local rescues with neonate kittens. Once they reach 10-12wks old, the kittens will go back to the rescues for adoption. 😁 I'm currently fostering these two adorable kittens. They are about 2wks old.

Sweet baby Jill is still looking for her forever home! It's truly a crime that she hasn't found her people yet, so here are a few reasons you should come meet Jill:

1. She's affectionate - she'll push up on her tiptoes to meet your hand when you go to pet her.

2. She LOVES to play. She even plays fetch! Throw a spring or a worm toy and she'll speed off and bring it right back so you can throw it again.

3. She's totally chill with strangers, and if you have a treat, you're immediately her best friend.

4. She'll be tiny forever! She's nearly a year old and still under 8 lbs. She's just a small little baby.

Jill is fully fixed and vaccinated, hasn't been exposed to dogs or young children but does well with other cats. She's been an absolute joy to foster, and is eagerly looking forward to meeting her forever family 😸
