Meet some of our kittens still looking for homes! Also, if you are interested in volunteering in our kitten room weekly or twice monthly, please contact me at [email protected] for information on available shifts we still need covered. We have an amazing group of volunteers who care for these kittens while at PetSmart but still need a little more help. 😍
Chloe is 9wks old and full of energy! She loves playing with balls. She will be getting her first FVRCP vaccine and FIV/Leukemia test tomorrow. This will be around $35. If you'd like to help, please go to paypal.me/littlecarolinapaws
Update on Betty White, our 18yr old hospice cat. Her bloodwork looked pretty good except for having high pro-BNP levels. Based on her physical exam and bloodwork, she most likely has heart issues. We will continue to monitor her and will be keeping her on Plavix to prevent blood clots. Her teeth were pretty gross too but based on her bloodwork, we will most likely not be doing a dental. She is happy and well loved in her foster hospice home and she will continue to be loved and spoiled as long as she is comfortable. #bettywhite2022
Remember the mom and two kittens we posted last week that needed a foster? We are super thrilled that we were able to bring them into LCPR yesterday and they are currently with a long term foster!! #jackjill2022

The only thing Magnolia wants more than yummy treats is a new home!! She has come such a long way since coming to LCPR in March. She was semi-feral and pregnant with four kittens that came just a few days after she arrived at LCPR (Dana Sue is one of her kittens). Once her kittens were grown, Magnolia was moved to a foster home where she could get more one on one attention to learn that indoor life is pretty good after all! She is such a sweet girl and loves to be pet. She even seeks out attention on her own and has learned to enjoy playing with toys and rolling around on soft carpets. Magnolia needs a quiet home since she doesn't like a lot of noise. A home with no kids or older, quiet kids would be best. She would do well as an only cat or with one or two other friendly cats. Her current foster home has a small, low-energy dog that she tolerates. If interested, please go to https://petlover.petstablished.com/pets/public/989594
Boo is enjoying "helping" his foster mom decorate for Christmas. Listen to his cute little squeak at the end. 😍
Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days! Sometimes life just gets a little crazy. 🤪 Here's an adorable video of Lilo, Stitch, Cattie, and Katy. They all have a vet appt tomorrow for their second FVRCP vaccine and deworming. If you'd like to donate towards their visit tomorrow, please go to paypal.me/littlecarolinapaws or Venmo @littlecarolinapawsrescue
Everyday around lunchtime, Dragon finds me in the kitchen (or leads me to the kitchen if we are eating lunch later than usual 😏) and asks/demands a special treat. These are her absolute FAVORITE treats (she also loves Churus). She doesn't get them daily, just a few times a week. For some reason, these can be very hard to find since she ONLY wants the shrimp ones so she definitely lets me know when she's upset if I'm not able to find any during my weekly grocery and pet store trips. 🤦♀️🤣 She's just slightly spoiled.
Dragon is still waiting for the perfect home! Because of her disability, we do have some requirements for her forever home. For more information, please go to https://petlover.petstablished.com/pets/public/855132
Lilo and Stitch have a new tunnel bed to play with. I think they like it!

Casper had his recheck appt at our vet office on Tuesday. He was still acting painful so we are still concerned about some possible skeletal damage. He would have had to be sedated to have radiographs done and our vet didn't think that would be the best first course for him. So started him on gabapentin to manage the pain and will recheck to see if radiographs are still needed. There aren't any obvious breaks so we are hoping he just has some muscle inflammation. As you can see in the video, he is responding wonderfully to the gabapentin! We are also concerned about his adult teeth coming in properly since his baby teeth were either knocked out or shattered in the fall. We will be monitoring this closely.
Casper tested positive for FIV. This still could be from maternal antibodies so we will retest in 6 months. We test early for FIV/Leukemia (around 8wks old) because 99% of the time, they are negative. If we do get a positive, we take extra precautions to separate the positive kitten from others until we know for sure whether they are positive/negative. Having this information allows us to safely combine kittens from different litters if needed.
Scratches... not optional
Sprinkles (our honorary kitten mommy 😺) says goodnight from LCPR!
