Housing is so expensive and hard to find!

Do you know a reliable and honest someone who would like to trade approximately 15 hours of work per week (evenings and early mornings) in return for a FREE studio apartment and ALL utilities? Includes internet, washer/dryer.

The work involves pottying and feeding our doggy guests early mornings and pottying them at night. Also, caring for between 1-3 dogs stay in his or her room some nights. The duties allow a person's daytime hours to be completely free for work, study, or play.

Anyone know who owns this cat? One of the nicest, coolest cats we've ever met. It comes to visit us once or twice a day (we're on Black Hawk Rd. next to BJ's in Black Hawk), and someone said it may have a home, but it is getting skinnier and skinnier. We've started giving it a little food and would like to help it find its way home.

The "place" command is similar to but different from "stay." You'd use it when you want your dog to go to this place or that, whether a regular place or somewhere new, and stay there until released. This command can come in very handy. Here is Gordie learning "place." It helps that he is already trained to the commands "come" and "okay," the latter of which is his cue that he has been released.

Plea for Support:

Our effort to support the BHFCU Raise for Rescues drive is failing. To date, only one person has brought in any supplies. Our local shelters and rescues desperately need supplies, especially food, hard toys, and treats. If you have an extra bags or cans or hard toys or can buy some extra, please, please drop them off at either Woofers Pet Resort location. Money is also helpful. There is an account at BHFCU from which 100% of the funds will be given to our local shelters and rescues.

We have only six days remaining. Please Woofers people (and all other animal lovers), come through for us!

UPDATE 6/5/25 Woofers Nation is beginning to come through by donating food and toys. Thank you so much! We are far behind, though, and have a long way to go. Keep those donations coming, please!

Update: 4/2/25 April Fools'! We have always bathed dogs, deep-cleaned their ears, and trimmed nails, but we are not a full-service groomer. Kree is a Chinese Crested dog. They look like this, without the need for grooming. 😂

Does anyone near Black Hawk have a bicycle we can use for a few days to teach a dog not to attack bicycles? Any bike will do.

Update: Oh, and we need a guinea pig to ride the bicycle while we teach the dog not to chew your leg off. Usually takes several passes before the dog learns better. 😂😂
